Remarks

The Science courses here at dyal singh are really popular in DU and it is among the oldest colleges of DU.As far as the infrastructure is concerned, the building is good. The classrooms are spacious. The college has two well equipped computer labs. I was not very happy about the library. Even though a separate building is allotted to the library, the books were very less in number. A new building was being constructed during the time our end semester exams were going on. So maybe new classes have been added till now. In all the college is above average in terms of infrastructure. As far as the faculty is concerned, the mathematics department boasted of a highly qualified faculty. The teachers were exceptional in their domains. I believe this was the norm throughout all the departments in the college.

Placement Experience

The Placement Cell has been an integral part of development for the students of our college. Also, our internship division has seen a massive expansion as well. This year, many major companies like Deloitte, American Express, Marks and Spencer, NIIT, KPMG, EY, Uber etc have recruited students from our college.Following are the statistics of the recruitment and internships for the session 2019-2020:Recruitment:No. of companies visited: 130No. of students placed: 150+Average Package: 4.75 LPAHighest Package Offered: 12 LPAHighest Package Received: 10 LPAInternships:No. of companies: 180No. of Interns hired: 240+We promise to improve in all aspects we can, and deliver the best we can in the coming session 2020-2021.To recruit from our college, get in touch with us at:careers.placementcell.dsc@gmail.comStudents may get in touch with us at:-placementcell.dsc@gmail.com

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee of my course was around 12k per semester. The placement scenario is not that good for science and mathematics department. Though good companies show up for recruitment, but most of them want Bcom or Economics hons graduates. Also the science and mathematics departments do not show much interest in helping to get their students placed. However that is not the case if you join some other course. I have seen teachers greatly encouraging their students to go ahead and participate.

Campus Life

4.5

There are several societies present in the college for the extra curricular activities. So one can be a part of one or more depending upon his or her interest. There are auditions to be a part of the societies. A point to be considered here is that attendance is a big issue in Dyal Singh College. So you must know how to juggle with your classes and extra curriculars.

Placements at my college are average, students become eligible from around the 5th semester. A few companies visit for recruitment, offering roles in entry level positions. The average package is moderate, while higher package are limited. Around 70 to 80% of students get placed. I plan to focus on skill development and explore better opportunities after completing my degree.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very relevant as it contains useful concepts which a management student should know. And the concepts are very comprehensive and easy to understand. Examples are given in the curriculum which prepares us for the real world. Some teachers use the presentation based teaching which is good and should be encouraged. The exams are not that difficult for one who is atleast decent in studies.

Placements are available in college, the drive is quite extensive, everyone is made aware of the choices and options and counselling is present too. It is from the third year, students are eligible to apply for placements. Companies and organisations take part such as Niti ayog, Times, Geostrata, Prajatantra foundation, etc. Those who desire usually work on their CVs, keep on doi internships and then get a placement. The packages are not that impressive to be honest.

Talking about the areas of improvement and teaching methods there are none. The exams of the respective subject are to happen. They take test 1 , test 2 and there is final exams.

I got a seat in Ramjas College. It is a north-campus college. The infrastructure is too good compared to the remaining colleges. The teaching also going well but I faced some language problems. I'm from south India so I don't understand Hindi properly. But here mostly they teach in Hindi only and English is used very rarely.
