Remarks
I was interested in biotechnology. Shoolini has a great curriculum and excellent research record. It has one of the best H-index value in the country. Nestled in the lap of himalayas, the research potential is endless. A good number of companies visit the university making it suitable for people who want to pursue career in corporate as well.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is ever evolving. We had common 50-60 electives from all the departments and irrespectove of your branch you can opt for those subjects as per your interests. I took up German language in one semester, taxation in other. Every semester you can choose according to your liking. The term exams are timely.
Internships Opportunities
I applied for INSA-NASI-IASc fellowship and worked at CSIR-IITR lucknow. I got my project published by IASc Bangalore. I worked at IITR for 2 months under the guidance of Prof Alok Dhawan, the director of IITR and CDRI.
Placement Experience
For all the courses, college brings about the best companies for placement. Also, the placement committee keeps sending in mailers for applying outside the campus as well. Almost 85% of our class got placed, rest went for higher studies. I took placement outside the campus and didn't go for campus placements.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure is good and it is better than most private colleges. You can receive need based help in genuine cases. Top students are provided with scholarships to help them with their studies. With respect to campus jobs, you can work at certain departments and get paid, although it is very limited in number but they can be increased any time by the college.
Campus Life
The annual fest is called Moksh and is a huge affair. The days are dedicated to technical events and the nights are cultural. It is usually 3-4 days long. Shoolini has one of the best libraries with online access. Classrooms are fully equiped with the necessary technology. There are all sorts of club: drama, music, theatre, literature, journalism. We have our own radio, so people can opt for that.
