Fun days to be cherished forever

Management is very good. The culture which is followed in college is just awesome. Its faculties are good. The college head takes all the responsibilities of its students. Moreover, college becomes a place to be cherished forever. The hangouts in the college canteen, the fun moments in the classes, the night DJs in several fests just cant let out a student forget their wonderful four years of life. I would rather say these 4 years are the best thing that happened to me ever.

I appeared for IIT, but got a few less marks than the cut-off mark and also a few different exams such as AIEEE, BITSAT, OJEE and I thought the best college in Odisha for electronics would be VSSUT. So got through the admission process amd completed successfully my degree.

As we know, electronics is the growing field in the market, so it includes brilliant subjects such as VLSI, information theory and coding, antenna and other recent research topics too. It includes the communication links, ways of processing a signal and many more which are the most searched topics in the current world.

Our college does provide internships. Various companies such as TATA STEEL, SIEMENS have placed good students and they get their stipend according to their performance. Various organizations such as DRDO, BSNL also have been training students from our college.

The average placement percentage is 95%(since the last few years). Various companies came to our college for recruiting good students. Varieties of companies came to the college(2016 batch), such as under statistical companies we had Sap labs with a package of 8 lakhs p.a and Deloitte with a package of 6 lakhs p.a. Then under core companies, we had Maruti, Hyundai Hindalco and etc with an average package of 5 lakhs p.a. Then under software companies, we had Accenture, Infosys, Wipro and etc with an average package of 3.5 lakhs p.a.

We have many fests that are being held by the college. Like we have our tech fest ''SAMAVESH", in which we have Robo challenges, seminars and, etc. We have our cultural fest "VSSAUNT" in which various colleges come to our college and compete well. We have sports fest "ILLUMINA" which shows the sporty nature of the students of our college.

It's very feasible as it is a government college. One year consist of two semesters and the odd sem costs Rs. 18,000 and the even sem costs Rs. 15,000 for normal students. And we have SS (Self-sustaining) whose amount is 28,000 and 25,000 respectively. Also, another category of students is there whose amount costs 10,000 and 8,000 respectively. So we can thus conclude that it is very feasible.

"MEDHABRUTI" had been availed by all the students whose economic condition was not so good enough. Each year these students get an amount of Rs. 10,000 total was amounting to Rs. 40,000 till then end of the course. And few other scholarships also had been given to SC/STs for their excellent performance in the curriculum.

Campus life was so much fun, there is no diversity between girls and boys. Good friends can hang out anywhere, can study with each other and just chill out. Varieties of workshops have been conducted by different faculties and the students are required to be a part of it. Various festivals are also celebrated in the college. Also, it sponsors to various small NGOs like sanskar Kendra. It also has provisions for the girl child and always does something to enhance girls' values.

We have all total of 8 hostels and although it looks slightly old bt I would rate a 5/5 in case of accommodation provided by the final year hostel(accomodates two years girls). We have two sharing rooms. We were given free LAN ports and talking about food it's just more than enough. We were getting foods four times a day and sunday we were having biriyani. And we had two TVs and two common rooms with ACs in it. And guess what, for each semester we only had to pay Rs. 11,000. Isnt it awsum?

The best thing about college is the relationship between seniors and juniors. Seniors are always there for the juniors. And also we have one fest called GSM which invites all the alumni to share their viewpoints. So overall there is a very good social networking between the seniors and juniors.

Exams and labs were undoubtedly chilled days. Because we were given preparatory leave in which the students prepare well. And even in labs, we were given a simple operation to show, which is done to ensure that the student has gone through the concepts. Nd during vivas the teacher encourages the students well and even narrates the story of their own days which makes the students very comfortable.

Its a well said the statement that if the teacher is very keen and has a sharp interest in sharing his knowledge then irrespective of the students' will they will prosper. The same applies here too. The teachers are highly qualified, have done their masters from IITs, IISC and NITs. They try to complete their course on time and even gives some time for revision and discussion of important questions.
