SBSC, DU experience

Good :- 1)BA program is a cheap course as it costed me approx 7k for a year as compared to other colleges in North campus.2) it has many different societies like Music society, debate society, dance society, NSS and NCC etc. I was part of NCC ( rank holder) and environmental society ( for a few days). I also volunteered in many different programs of college.3) There was no minimum attendance criteria in my course. So many students were active in different societies of our college.4)Students were from all over India so it gave me an understanding that how diverse India is.Bad-1) college is off campus.2) College fest is not as grand as compared to main Campus Colleges of DU.Reason for opting this College- Cheap course (BA PROGRAM), College was near my home and I wanted to opt for NCC and this College has a well reputed NCC in DU.Admission begin right after the DU announces its first cut-off and the student have 3 days to get admission into the college after the announcement of official cut-off marks.Document varification takes only a day and students have to take with their original documents during admission.

I opted for BA because of wide varities of subjects that it has to offer. Faculty is usually helpful towards students but some of them are not that understanding. Student teacher ratio depends on the subject like main course subject will have 50-60:1 but optional subject course will vary from 20-30:1. Most of our faculty are PHD holders and some of them has published their own books. Majority of our teachers opt English to teach but some were bilingual. Exams were always on time and exams were easy to pass.

I didn't opted for any internship program. Neither do my friends as I devoted most of my time to NCC so their was little time to offer for other activities and I never had any intention for internship program.

0 on campus placement for BA program students. Placement is their for B.COM honours students and many companies have visited for hiring the students from this course. My plan is to appear for UPSC exam.

Course is affordable. Fee - hike never observed by me in my entire course. Certain Scholarship program is there for students from economically weaker sections.On campus job is there for BCOM(Honours) students but not for BA students.

College has an annual fest named Dastan usually happens in Month of March.Library is big with wide variety of books related to course and other topics.College has active societies related to sports, music, debate, dance, NSS, NCC etc.Classrooms are very basic.

No, GD/PI was held for admissions in the College. The entire admission was solely based on your marks scored in class 12th exam. Students have to give their best 4 percentage while opting for any course.
