Remarks

The counseling day was hectic as there were as many as thousands of students appearing for counseling and admission process. The required percentage for Journalism and Mass Communication course at my time was around 40%. And I had also applied for BA and BSC course in the same college, which to both I got selected but chose to go in this field as per my interests in this sector.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course has covered both Journalism and Mass communication fields which not many colleges offer and also the faculty is very much experienced. The teaching method is good enough and the ratio of teacher to student is 20:120 which is good enough as well considering the different teachers for different subjects.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

The college allows for internships but doesn't provide for one. Yet you are allowed to intern under the companies you like after the no-objection certificate has been provided to you, which for our course was after the 2nd year.

Placement Experience

3.5

After the course completion, the students are eligible for campus placement. It provides a 100% placement guarantee. Each and every student has been taken up by many reputable companies in India. My plan after this course is likely to get a job in the journalism sector.

Fees and Financial Aid

The course fees are obviously very high as journalism is a good course and has not been very famous until recent years due to a hike in the number of news agencies and companies. The yearly fee estimate is 2 lakhs. There are 1/2 scholarships that you can apply for in the beginning of the year.

Campus Life

4

The library here is one of the biggest libraries in any university in India. "Panch Mukhi" is the name of the co-curriculum activities provided by the university which consists of as many endless possibilities of activities starting from acrobat to yoga, etc. There is an annual Aapaaji Mela where the fun activities occur, it's a fun event overall. There are clubs for each course and field, arts to computers, flying to sports. It's an all-girls campus, so most of the teachers are female staff. And the canteens serve good food if people crave non-hostel mess food. The whole campus is very huge but leaving the campus requires permission prior and needs to be signed by the warden and the head of the department.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I enjoy writing content, The classes held on creative writing helped me understand the importance of language and trained me to write for different formats- including press releases, articles. scripts for radio shows, etc. I gained lot of practical writing knowledge while pursuing the course. Subjects like media laws and development communication were taught further during post-graduation diploma. Prior learning hepled me in retaining the concepts well. The 10 marks unit test, held twice a semester were held for 90 minutes, while semester exams (theory), held for 70 marks were completed in 3 hours. The practicals during semester exams were held for 30 marks, which included assignments or file submission and viva.

Remarks:

The college is running like a private corporate organization. But as they provide education services, we thought to believe they will be helpful, and offer us quality education, but they failed in providing quality education. The management is biased, your practical number can vary if you are not a chamcha of the faculty. You can achieve excellent marks by licking some boots. Jaipur national university is running with a motive to earn money. They do invite famous Bollywood star to increase the popularity. The university is purely PR gimmick.
