Remarks

Good: Campus was good along with the environment and location. Hostel amenities are also quite well Bad: look on placements ratio.I dont know about the current situation. Still at our time it went down.

Entrance Preview

I have appeared through AIEEE and WBJEE. My score in WBJEE was 16344 and i got a chance to pursue b.tech in cse from bengal college of engineering and technology. I opted for this college a in my hometown this was the only college with good academics and environment (location). The faculty and administration were good enough to take me to this place where i stand now. Thanks to all my pals and teachers for supporting me.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is set by the university and we have to follow that. When it comes from teaching point of view it was superb in most of the areas. Despite some subjects.(which i dint like so didn't focused on them).

Internships Opportunities

Yes our college provide internship but nly for bio tech branch. It may be providing for other branches as of now.

Placement Experience

Placements was good. But for the year 2015 it decreased a bit. Companies dint took much of the students. Overall placements is of average level

College celebrates so many events like:- 1.Robotics, NeN, cultural fest, technological fest etc.

No.. Minority and sc st avail loans from their state govt

Campus Life

Campus life is extremely well. Full of enjoyments. As nearby also we have several branches so huge crowd was there al along the street. It was fab. gender ratio is 60:40 as i have seen.

Hostel Facilities

As i was a local guy so it did not happened. Still from friends and all food is totally begetarian Quite good for health menu was superb. But eating all the things in a routine becomes nasty. so it happens

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

Yes they are helpful through out your session and some even after your college session is over.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is also defined by the university. Still college exams were quite good. Practicals of several subjects were excellent. Being a cs engineer subjects were taught quite well.

Faculty is good enough to make you an engineer..Hahhaa.. They were quite helping in many kinds of situation apart from studeis also. this thing i liked the most about the faculty.

Placement Experience:

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

BCET Durgapur.Good campus but bad faculty and placement opportunities.

I say this earlier. First of all my JEE rank was little bit low, so I can't get any govt college. And at that time the CSE fees in almost every private college is arround 4 lakhs. But they asked high donation. Which was not affordable by my family. So I choose this college. Also I hear all private colleges are same.we have to do everything by ourselves.
