Once in a lifetime Experience

I appeared For the JEE Mains exam. Got a decent rank. And according to my priorities, BIT Mesra was the best-fit college for me. Counseling was a really simple process. Everything was done online. I was getting Bsc+Msc courses in other NITs Like Agartala and Patna but I opted for BIT Mesra because it is one of the oldest and most recognized technical schools in India. Plus the alumni association of the Institute has a global outreach. These are the main reasons why I opted for this college.

According to my JEE Rank, I was given this particular course. The department is one of the first of its kind in the whole country. The labs are very well equipped. Research projects are very well funded. The professors are really nice. All of them are highly qualified. Exams were more or less easy to pass. You just gotta focus on what is being taught in the class.

As I have mentioned earlier, placements for Btech are downright amazing. The average CTC given to the students was around 11LPA. Companies like Microsoft, Oracle, Indian Oil, Maruti Suzuki, Goldman Sachs, ZS Associates are some big names that actively recruit students from our college.

The fee hike, I feel, is not justified at all. Every year approximately there is a hike of 12000 INR to the general tuition fee. But yes, the college does have a scholarship program called the GP BIRLA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM. But if you are enrolled in a BTech course and you play your cards right(studying and properly preparing for the placements), you will definitely bag a very good-paying job. The placements for Btech are better than 80-90% of Engineering colleges of the country. This year's avg CTC was Around 11LPA.

One word; Amazing. I made such amazing friends over here. The Annual Fest of our College-BITOTSAV is the biggest cultural fest in the whole of eastern India. Of course, I missed out on this year's BITOTSAV due to the pandemic, but here's to hoping that we get to organize the fest in the next academic year. The campus life is amazing. Away from the hustle-bustle of the regular metro city life, Mesra offers something that really cannot be explained by words. Just try and visit the campus, you will understand. The canteens are amazing as well.

Hostels are old but quite satisfactory. From the second year onwards, you are given single-room accommodations(for boys). Mess food is decent, at least better than some of the other colleges of this stature. The hostel fee is quite affordable. It includes electricity bills, mess food charges, etc.
