Remarks

I was admitted in 2018. The admission process was smooth but I was not informed of any scholarship or financial aid that I was eligible for. I was given two options. One is BSc Biotechnology and the other BTech. On the basis of my mathematics marks, I got BTech. I was told about the lab and internship opportunities but I was not informed that we don't have Plant and Animal Biotechnology lab that is necessary for our course requirement. I asked for inside campus hostel facilities and that was provided to me.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

At the time of my admission, I had two options either BSc Biotechnology or BTech Biotechnology. I chose the latter. I did not like the first-year course but the syllabus of the rest of the three years was very compact. The quality of faculties of the first year was seriously bad except for the law paper engineering students to have to study. From the 2nd year onwards the quality of faculties was decent. Most faculties use whiteboard or presentations. Faculties were approachable. Although most of them don't have the quality research experience that is needed in Biotechnology related fields. Internships were promised at the time of admission but later most of us could not get any Internship. The total number of students in our school SOLB is 500 and teachers are about 20. Exams were on time and question paper is pretty standard like any other college.

Placement Experience

2

Placement support starts from the 6th SEM. There's a body named Career development Cell and we have a superset account. Some pharmaceutical companies come here. Package varies from 2,40,000 to 4,80,000 per annum although the number of positions offered is very low. The percentage of students getting placement in Pharmaceutical companies will be around 20 to 30%. The overall percentage might vary from 50 to 70% but I know most are offered 5000 rupees per month. So don't believe the advertisement. My plan is to higher study. Mainly MS in USA and UK.

Fees and Financial Aid

Every year Adamas increase its fees. I enrolled in 2018, total fees of my studies is 600000 INR. No scholarship and financial assistance are provided to me. Some students got Chancellor's scholarship. A fee waiver of 3000 rupees per month was given for accommodation during the time of Covid as we were not on the campus. We had to pay more than 70% of accommodation fees even if we were not on campus.

Campus Life

4

We had a fest named Adinova and I joined a tech-fest in my first year. In terms of the fest, I would really give Adama's thumbs up. I don't exactly remember the time but probably it's February of each year. Books are all available in multiple copies in the library. There is no shortage in Biotechnology and allied fields in the Central Library. No journal is there for us. Most classrooms have AC and projectors. I would say 20-30% of them are faulty like either AC or project is non-functional. We have a convention centre where after class many students play tennis. Other sports activities and the gym also happens. There are multiple clubs available. Most of them are pretty active. Last but not least the campus is beautiful and I miss the cafeteria (reasonable price).

Hostel Facilities

2

I would like to discourage everyone to go for inside campus accommodation. The rooms are too small. I lived in an AC two-bedroom. It cost me 11500 per month and the room was small. The washroom is shared by 4 to 6 depending on the old or new hostel. I resided in a new hostel, in one lobby there are 8 people and two washroom and only washroom has geyser. We don't have a washing machine in the new hostel. I disliked meal every day. Quality is not satisfactory. They mix water in the sauce. There are PGs available at a lower cost outside the campus.

Interview Experience

0.5

I did not face any interview. I was given direct admission like most students. There are education counsellors. They will talk with you about the program you want to enrol in and the future perspective of your program. Rest is upto you.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
