I applied for LPU but I didn't attended because it was far away from my home I am a general catagory student so I am not having any quota Admission criteria is that you have to clear the both JEE mains and JEE advanced exam. First you have to clear JEE MAINS after that you have to clear JEE advanced. Based on jee advanced exam's rank , you will get a seat in IIT. Cut-off changes every year and only two attempts are allowed for JEE advanced. On the councelling day , you just have to provide your documents like 10th and 12th class certificate , adhar card and there will be biometric varification . Then you will be allotted a seat in college.

I was intrested in civil engineering like building great structures so I choose this course. talking about the faculty-student ratio it's 1:2, there are currently 16 faculty from various fields of civil engineering who are teaching us . All faculty are well qualified and had done their PhD from various IITs and foreign universities . All of their researches that are published are available on iit ropar's website. All civil faculties are very good at teaching they dont not uses slides or ppt to teach but teaches using board by themselves. In a semester there are two exams - midsem and endsem. Midsem exam occures after the 2 months when semester starts and endsem exams happens at the end of the semester. All the exams are quite challanging , it requires in depth knowledge of subject to crack them but its not too difficult to pass. Students gets passing marks easily but scoring good marks are tough.

companies that came for internship are Walmart labs, American express, hyperverge, Chalo, Ramboll, Ram group, Axxela, etc . and they offered roles in SDE, Noncore, and core. the highest stipend offered by Amex which is 1lakh / month To get the intern one should have general aptitude knowledge and coding skills with communication skills.

students from the 7th semester are eligible for placements and the companies visited are Swiggy, Amazon, Saavan, Zomato, Samsung, Irage, Accenture, American Express, Walmart, Jaquar, Vedantu, etc, each company takes atleast 3-4 students. The highest package is 38 lakh offered by irage and the average package is around 18 lakhs. Percentage of students getting placed is above 80% I plan to get a good job in a good company.

The fee structure varies according to the category of the student. For general/OBC students the tution fee is 1,06,500 rupees and the hostel and mess+hostle combined fee is 15000 rupees. For SC/ST students tution fee is only 6,500 rupees and the mess fee is fully refundable. IIT Ropar provides financial help to students by providing them MCM (merit cum mean) scholarship of 5000 rupees, also for the students whose family income is less than one lakh per year they dont need to pay tution fee(full wavier in tution fee) Jobs & Interns - IIT Ropar provides in-campus job offers and the average package of placements in civil engineering in the year 2020 was 10 lakh per annum.

Campus life is awesome at IIT ROPAR, the campus is very beautiful and very big. The buildings, hostels and dining halls are beautifully made . . Talking about the annual Cultural fest which happens in October every year and its name is Zeitgeist. Superstars like Zakir Khan, Bassi, and Diljit Dosanjh have performed in our fest. Technical fest "Advitiya" happens in Feb and Sports Fest "Aarohan" in March. IIT Ropar has its own library with a large collection of books and books are easily available there. The classrooms of IIT Ropar are well and beautifully designed, seats are very soft. Projectors with large green and whiteboards and Air conditioners are available in each room. Inside the campus, one can enjoy both indoor and outdoor activities like cricket, football, basketball, table tennis, and lawn tennis, hockey, gym, badminton, etc. Pehchan is a social group run by our college's students which helps poor children to get free education.

Rooms of the hostels are good and are provided with a fan, almirah, shelf, wifi, lan, bed m table, chair, etc. Meal quality is also good but sometimes the taste is not good. The menu contains different meals of 7 days, so there is a variety of food available in the mess. The registration process is very easy for hostels, just pay the fee, and it's done. Hostel and mess facility is cheap at IIT Ropar, they charge 12-14,000 rupees per semester including both hostel and mess.
