SRM : what to expect and insights

The admission process was quite clear, we were given slots according to our SRMJEEE examination and had to visit the nearest branch for the enrollment process. Reaching there was proper coordination and then again sub-slots were allotted and then we were asked to select our respective choice courses which were on the availability of seats and based on first come first serve basis. Admission criteria were min 12th percentage as per the college i.e 60% and also seats were limited for the courses and students above 12k rank had to pay 3.5 lacs fees for CSE courses and some other courses.

I choose this course because I liked computer engineering and wanted to pursue it as a career. All the faculties are PHD graduates and the interns are also either pursuing PHD or had completed their Master's degree from a reputed college. The teaching method depends from faculty to faculty some depend on the course syllabus while some believe in giving exact notes and some believe in taking class tests. It's purely on your luck what type of teachers you are allowed but all of them are very knowledgeable about their particular fields.

We are provided internship opportunities but they are conditioned on the test criteria of the particular company or organization. It is being organized at the end of each year and it depends on year to year which all companies come for the internship fair. Internships are also provided based on competitions or hackathons by the sponsors of the events and then followed by jobs if interested. Stipend depends on the task of the job requirements. But it ranges from 10k to 50k per month Internships for Web Dev, Digital Marketing, Software Dev, Back end and front end dev, NGO internships all kinds of opportunities are available here. You can also opt for off-campus internships if you are well connected in the clubs, well informed, and stay updated. Online platforms like Internshala are also very helpful to get internships.

Before placement seasons there is internship season and it comes at the end of every year. All the tech giants like google, amazon, and Microsoft visit with various packages but for selective no of people and also Accenture, Infosys, Wipro, and tcs offer quite attractive packages. The elite students definitely get the top offers of more than 30 lacs per annum and it's considered as a dream offer and the come packages of 10lacs and above offered by startups and renowned companies and then there are mass recruiters which offer packages ranging from 3.5 lacs to 6 lacs per annum. We become eligible for placements from the 7th semester. Also, the interest of companies and for the particular courses are different like for Electrical department.

Or college has various scholarships and financial assistance help which is being given on the basis of one's 12th marks and SRMJEEE ranking and also on the basis of JEE Mains ranking. Campus Placements are very satisfactory and all the big giant companies and startups come with offers from the beginning of your particular placement season and also Internship opportunities are provided at the end of each year.

Campus life is super awesome and exactly what a student needs in his college days.MILAN and AARUSH are among the top college fests in whole India and also the biggest in Chennai . Our college has the most elite technical, non-technical clubs which conduct workshops and various signature events every now and then. Classrooms and infrastructure are an attraction to the college. Sports Quota is also there and all the sports facilities are available here. Indoor badminton courses, football, tennis, etc, and their competitions are also being organized by the college clubs. Clubs Like Data Science Community for technical things, IEEE, The Listening Space, DAA, Biocom all are run by students and are extremely functional clubs of college.

Various hostel options are available and at very attractive price ranges. Hostel facilty is awesome and the mess food is also good with a different menu each day and we get 4-course meals, yes snacks included and the menu consists of south Indian and north Indian food. But if you are bored with mess food college campus is well connected and surrounded by restaurants and our favorite dominos and McDonalds and all. Zomato and swiggy deliver on the campus as well.
