The Institute is affiliated with Anna University Chennai, and hence the admission process is conducted through the university. Students are required to apply to Anna university through the web link provided by Anna University. The admission to the students will be based on counselling conducted by the university on a merit basis. For management quota the institute will conduct an exam for scholarship and the students will be allotted seats based on the marks secured with some fee concession.

During my course of study, the curriculum was developed by Anna University and after getting autonomous status they have included the latest courses on par with industries. They offer courses taught by IBM technologies. The department has a research laboratory and 2 centres of excellence. They maintain a 1:15 faculty-student ratio. Most of the faculty members are PhD qualified and the rest are PG qualified.

We are motivated to do internships during winter and summer vacations. Our department will make the arrangements for getting trained in companies. Mostly we do our intership programme in BSNL, Southern Railways. The department also has two centres of excellence which is supported by Texas Instruments and Siemens powered by Genn Automation.

We have separate placements cell working throughout the year. They will train the students to get placed. More than 100 leading companies which includes both core and software will visit the campus every year. Near about 85% of students get placed through campus interviews. I have planned to do my higher studies and have joined the same institute in ME VLSI design.

The fee structure is as per Tamil Nadu government norms. Fees can be paid through bank loans. The management provides a scholarship for students coming from rural background and also for merit students. Free training are given for higher studies and for civil service exams.

Annual sports meet will be conducted and we will be motivated to get participated. We have professional societies such as IETE, IEI, IEEE run by students with the help of faculty coordinators. Near about 15000 technical books are available for Electronics and Communication Engineering in the library.

We have different types of rooms in our hostel like deluxe and super deluxe. Super deluxe rooms come with an AC facility. The maximum number of student accommodated in a room is 4. each student will have a separate study table and chair. we have a study lamp over the cot. Separate application forms have to be submitted to avail of the hostel facility. Charges are nominal and can be paid in instalments.
