SSCBS Review

Eligibility for Bachelor of Management Studies in DU requires the candidate to score an aggregate of at least 60% in class 12 in four subjects including Maths, English and other two subjects. Admission was based on the Entrance exam (DUJAT) and merit taken in certain ratios. I had joined Hansraj College for Economics Hons but left it for BMS in SSCBS. The admission process included the verification of documents. Then we had an orientation day where selected students and their parents were invited to make them familiar with the college.

My inclination towards management made me choose this course. The faculty at the college is amazing. Every teacher is well qualified and well acquainted with his/her subject. They try to teach things using innovative and tech-savvy manner. Term exams are held timely and it is not that difficult to pass. Notes by the teachers and revision make it easy to cover all the topics from the exam point of view.

American Express, Urban company, Vistara, Internshala, PWC, SBI etc offered internships in SSCBS in domains like Finance, Consulting, Marketing, Technology. Stipends differ according to companies and the kind of task alloted.

In their 3rd year, students are eligible to appear for placements. Companies that arrive at SSCBS for placements include BCG, Deloitte, KPMG, EY, Google, McKinsey & company etc. Around 170-180 offers are made. Around 80-85% of students get placement offers. I am planning to do MBA after completing BMS. The average package is around 7 lakhs per annum. And around 80% of the students get placed.

Fees are very minimal with respect to the course and as compared to other colleges. SSCBS gives scholarship opportunities for the ones who need it. Many companies reach out to the college for placement opportunities in the third year of our programme.

Crescendo, the annual fest is conducted in the month of February/March every year. The library has an abundance of books and journals which are available for student's access. Also, students can avail the library digitally through the student portal. There are many student-run societies and cells at SSCBS which work in different domains and organise various events and competitions.
