Remarks

If not the premier institutes in the western region, then you can definitely choose for TCET , if you are looking for CS or IT, or even EXTC. Lots of opportunities available, but it is up to you to grab .Overall Management is efficient. The chairperson is very open minded and approachable to students grievances. Library is well maintained and the staff is very co-operative.

Entrance Preview

I had appeared for MHT CET and scored average marks (130/200) , and as my interest was to pursue Engineering in EXTC , this was the best and the nearest college I would get.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The College is affiliated to the University of Mumbai and has adaptively adopted the newly introduced ,outcome based education. Over the 4 years, the college started giving more emphasis on Projects for competition and research purpose.

Internships Opportunities

Core Domain Interviews were not available to my Branch, but for CS and IT, there were some project-based internships. Also the T&P cell and Mechanical Engineering Dept. used to provide internships for 2nd and 3d year. The T&P cell is, however, striving to provide internships for electronics and telecom domain students too (as per the information received by my juniors)

Placement Experience

3

Lots of IT services, IT consultancy, and Some Core CS companies , along with DATA analytics companies visit TCET. Mass Recruiters are Accenture and Infosys, and most of the crowd gets pulled there.A few lucky get dream jobs in Oracle, MuSigma, Zycus, WorksApp (Japan)., etc The highest recorded Package until now was of 35 lpa of a student from IT, in year 2012-2013. Average salary however varies between 3-4 lpa.

College Events

4

Well, many events were celebrated all around the year. This is an advantage in terms of co/extracurriculars but disadvantages too, as academic loss usually occurs to students who were completely engrossed into those events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is extravagantly high, it accounts to more than 1 lakh per year. The only thing notable is that Labs are well equipped and Infrastructure is always maintained.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes the Scholarship facility is provided not directly through college, but the scholarship approved by various Trusts and Government scholarships are accepted

Campus Life

5

Any extra-curricular activity, be it sport or technical competition, it is supported and space for work is easily allocated(finance is not easily provided). Its impressive that this year 3rd years students of Computer Science stood first in All in Robotics competition conducted by E-yantra IITB. In my class of 70 students, there were 14 girls, but the majority of girls are in CS and IT branches. So, for overall college ,considering all the departments, the ratios is pretty much good. There are about 7 Student committees, one at least for one branch, so a lot of student politics and disputes occur.Workshops are conducted however by NSS, FOSSEEE , E-yantra cell and R&D cell. and respective department. The committees are specifically working only for festivals. Economically , a mixed crowd is noticed, some are rich , others belong normal middle class , and some are very poor ( there is TWFS and EBC scheme for them, to reduce fees for them) Be it the cool dudes, be it the nerds , or geeks, be it sports player or leaders, you will find the mixed variety of crowd here.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

There are a hostel facility students staying outside the city, but it's only for boys and the seats per year is about 20. There is no Mess facility, though, students arrange from tiffin or eat at college's hostel. Hostel facility is decent and there is variety in menu, pricing is also a little higher than average.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are helpful and friendly, they try to provide guidance to juniors on their industry experiences

Exam Structure

Exams were conducted as per instruction of UoM, mid-term tests were conducted 2 per day, with an adequate amount of interval (3 hrs) in between. Most of the students used to study in that interval only. Labs were ethically conducted and so were the exams, however, most of the students were cleared from the practicals/orals provided if the have a good record.

Faculty

3.5

There are faculties of Mixed interests . Most of the teachers believe in teaching from basic concepts and building a strong foundation of concepts, few of them are impeccable teachers ! There are one two professors who are a little grumpy, but their ulterior motive is to provide discipline amongst the students. Some of the professors are simply chilled out and they only teach on exam perspective. About 10-15 percent of faculties have received Ph.D. , but hardly any of them(except one) is into pure research. It is important to mention, that Self Study is equally important, irrespective of which college is joined.
