When the jee advanced 2020 result came, I was so joyful that I realized I will be finally going into IITs. My Open Category rank was 15642 and my Obc category rank was 3307. After seeing my rank my family members performed some calculations and gave me a conclusion to join IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, Petroleum Engineering. I was somewhat feeling bad for not getting CSE in any IITs but trust me Petroleum Engineering at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad is next to use in terms of placement. Admission Criteria for this program is as follow as: You have to secure a good rank in Jee advanced somewhere between 7k to10k, if you are in a general category, 2.8k to 3.5k category rank if you are in OBC Category, and around 1k for EWS students.

I choose this course because from my rank point of view this was the best course which I could encounter. Here faculty: student ratio is extremely good. Professors are highly qualified and their teaching method is also overall very good. One thing I should say here in exams marks is somewhat difficult to score very well.

Various companies like Google, Microsoft, TATA steel, TCS, Capgemini, JP Morgan, Deutsche Bank, BNY melon, ONGC, Carin and many more top companies come to hire students for internships with stipend. What you need else from college where students get interns at major PSUs of India.

Nearly all the top companies come to college like Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, JP Morgan, Capgemini, Barclays, KPMG, Deutsche Bank, Walmart, PwC, Mckinsey& company and many more top companies come every year to hire students. As per data, the Highest package was Rs 54.57 lakhs pa to 7 students by GOOGLE. The average package of college is Rs 11lakhs pa. Various profiles are offered from coding, data analyst, tech analyst, management consultant, consulting, finance, IT sector, health sector are present every year. I'm planning to get into Management consulting directly from college. Apart from this here the placement in the Petroleum Engineering branch is highly appreciated, Companies like ONGC, shell, Carin ExxonMobil, Mecon, Schlumberger. etc comes here and gives students a decent package.

For the B.tech program, a general/OBC category student has to pay a tuition fee of approx 1lakh per year. With other charges like a library, sports, hostel, medical, The amount stands around 10.3 lakhs (inclusive of all types of charges) for four years. Institute also has more than 30 scholarship programs are running in college. The total scholarship amount is more than Rs 1.5 cr. Another fee waiver, merit cum means are also available for all students whose annual parental income is less than Rs 6 lakhs.

There are different fest for different themes organized in college. SRIJAN- socio-cultural fest, Concetto - annual technical fest, Basant- Alumni reunion festival, parikrama - annual sports fest, excelsior- literary fest. We have the second-largest & modern library in Asia. It comprises more than 1,00,000 books, journals, and e-books and nearly all the books of all the subjects are available. One can find all types of sports facilities in students gymkhana, from GYMs, football, cricket ground, Olympic-sized swimming pools, indoor and outdoor badminton courts, tennis, boxing ring, karate, and even Squash courts with properly maintained and up-to-date equipment. There is nearly all type of clubs in IIT (ISM) related to videography(LCI) , robotics (RoboISM) , dance ( WTC(street), LITM(classical)) , music(Manthan) , Literary and debating (LITC) , public speaking ( toastmasters) , coding (codeISM) , Ecell and many more clubs.

Here a hostel room comprises of a fan, table, chair, and 2 beds. Food qualities are also remarkable here. However, the taste is average. Both veg and nonveg are provided in the hostel. While you register for college after counseling ends, rooms and hostels are automatically provided by management. It costs Rs 6k per year.
