A perfect college for a Geek

I haven't gotten a good rank in mains and my only hope was JEE ADVANCED. I remember after mains there's almost 28 days gap before JEE ADVANCED it was not that easy to crack Advanced after having a low rank in mains. But I started revisions after revisions, I hadn't slept well in those 28 days and somehow I cracked JEE ADVANCED with pretty good numbers. But I wasn't that experienced in counseling and filled wrong preferences, After my first counseling I got a seat in IIT ISM, MINING ENGINEERING and of course, my rank was good and that's why I ended up getting my first preference. I availed EWS quota also but that's of no use because if I hadn't been used it still I will be getting into this college easily.

I chose this course because of my will and interest in earth sciences. And if we talk about faculty: student ratio then I can say that it will be highest in the INDIA we have almost 400 faculty members on 5000 students. All the faculties are well-educated and experienced intelligent people. And they used to explain everything very briefly and in a descriptive manner. Because of the online semester, there's a lot of exams almost 16 exams in a semester of 4 months. But getting passed in those exams was not that tough.

When I entered my sophomore year, I had a decent GPA. However, coding was something new to me. Back then, the craze for coding in freshman year was not as much as today. Majorly everyone started coding in the sophomore year itself. Being in CSE, I had the privilege to attend CodeISM classes. codeISM is an excellent platform where seniors with a decent internship and coding background guided us in entering the competitive programming world. I was regular to those classes and solved as many questions as I could on Spoj, CodeChef, HackerRank, and HackerEarth. While striving to improve my competitive programming skills, I never compromised with my GPA. I saw and heard many seniors warning me about the role of GPA in on-campus internships. Many companies kept a minimum threshold GPA for sitting in their online assessment. Being a dual degree student, I practiced a lot of Competitive Programming on different platforms, but the pressure wasn’t there, as I had one more year to prepare for.

From 3rd semester onwards. Almost 250+ companies visited and 700+ on-campus placements were offered. Amazon, Microsoft, Bloomberg, Apple, Samsung, Coal INDIA, ONGC, Indane Oil. Highest package - 91 lakhs (Bloomberg) Average package- 11 lakhs 80% I want to work with Amazon or Microsoft.

Fees are genuine compared to other IITs. I have availed full fee waiver in accordance with my family income that's why it is never an issue with a high fee and something. If you want, you can avail of loans very easily.

Tech fest- Conceitto Cultural fest- Srijan And we'll be celebrating more fests also like Basant. We are having Asia's second-largest library. All other extra co-curricular activities are there, like table tennis and everything, It's an IIT. Clubs:- ADC, CHAYANIKA, PHOTOFREAKS, TOASTMASTERS, ARKA, ROBOISM, CYBERLABS.

Bed, High-speed Wifi, Table, bucket, and essential things to use. Meal quality is not excellent but we can consider it as good. The registration process is easy I have admitted through online mode and that's why I haven't gone through the actual process. I had to fill a form only.
