Better opportunity of internship

I applied for jossa counseling after getting my JEE Advanced result and filled choices in decreasing priority. There are no criteria for minimum marks. General students with the rank of 8000 got this branch.

I chose this course because of its placements. IIT(ISM) DHANBAD is famous for its earth science branches. And Petroleum Engineering is considered best among those. Companies like ONGC come for campus recruitment. The faculty and students ratio is good, but we attended our first year online so never bothered about that. Most of the teachers are well qualified, many of them are Ph.D. holders. there are 4 quizzes every semester and then the end of sem exam. And if you attend classes it's very easy to pass but if you are not a regular student then ppt and notes provided by teachers are enough for exams.

For students of circuital branches, there is a lot of opportunities of internship and many companies offer internships to all year students. For earth science branches it is a little difficult to get an internship in the core but if they are in the field of coding then it becomes easy for them also. This year a lot of students got internships in petroleum engineering and even in the core. So, internships in the core are also getting better day by day.

Most of the people get placed in their final year of course but many students grab internships in the 2nd and 3rd year. Some students get internships in their 1st year. The highest package this year is 90 lakh per annum now.(from computer science) One got 81 lakh. One another got 66 lakh ( from Environmental Engineering) 7 students got placement in Google with a package of 54 lakh More than 24 students got 45 lakh till now. And many students got 35 lakh plus. In petroleum, 10 students got placed in ONGC with a package of 21 lakh. Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and many other giants visited for campus placement. Placements are still in progress for this year. I am really happy to see the progress of IIT(ISM) Dhanbad, placements are getting better year after year.

The fee is the same as all the other IITs. The overall cost of the study is less than 1200000 without fee waiver and scholarship. But most needy people get a fee waivers, scholarships, or bank loans from the institute itself. So the fee is not a big issue. Institute provides Fee waiver, for those whose income is less than 6 lakh per annum. 100% waiver if income < 1 lakh 66% waiver if 1lakh < income < 6 lakh Scholarships like MCM, ISMAANA, and many others. In MCM you get 1000 per month as well as a full fee waiver. I got a 100% fee waiver.

There are many fests organized every year. Srijan and Basant are the most famous of them. And these fests are really grand. Our college has the largest library in Asia. All types of books are available. Clubs in all fields are available, either it's a sport, dance, singing, poetry, entrepreneurship, and many others.
