Intership programs

The admission was through JoSaa counselling in which we have to fill preferences according to our will and which IIT we want to choose, so basically it is not in our hands to get a college we get it according to our rank. since I am from gen category with no EWS there was no quota for me. There are minimum cutoff marks which are decided by the difficulty level of the exam and performance of students. The admission process is quite simple but has to fill in the preferences correctly otherwise you will end up getting a college that you don't want to get counselling goes for almost 1 month, there are 5 rounds with a special last round in which you can't withdraw your name if you go till the last round.

Since ism is one of the oldest and settled college I want to take a core branch and my marks was not that good to take cse or electrical branch so I ended up taking civil. However branch is pretty good, we have 15 or 16 profs, including assistant and associate profs, over 66 students. All profs are good in their field but since we are in an online batch so the productivity is not that good. We are having quizzes every 2 to 3 weeks and assignments then endsem. It not that easy however to get good marks you have to study something atleast a week before the exam.

Our college is pretty good at providing internships. It has its own internship cell with advisors which provide all information about internships and also help students to get placed. There are several projects that you can work on based on your interests from management to software development you have all the choices.

The placements of our college are pretty good. We have our own placement cell and quality and quantity both are pretty good. The highest package from our college was 97 lakhs I don't remember it exactly and the average package is 10 to 12 lakhs. It is pretty good. Almost all students get placed except a few.

One thing that is not good about college is that fees are a little bit high, it is almost 1 lakh rupees per semester. However there are many scholarships for sc/st/ews students, they have to pay almost half of 25% of total fees but for gen, there is no scholarship if you are not in the EWS category. You have to pay complete fees without any relaxation.

Since we are an online batch so we haven't seen the campus yet but seniors have told us that college life is pretty good, there is a strong bond between seniors and juniors they all help each other. The campus is pretty beautiful as well with almost all the facilities. The college has many clubs in which you can participate, I myself is in the foot freaks club. The photography club of ism. The college has one of the largest libraries in India. And along with all that, there are many sports facilities from badminton to chess any sports you want to play is available.

There are separate hostels for boys and girls and yes girl's hostel rooms are better than that of boys. I don't know why. Mess food is ok not that good but you can handle it also there is a canteen so if you want to change your taste you can have canteen food. Registration process for hostel is pretty simple you just have to pay it with your college tuition fees and that's all. You can also take a PG if you don't want to live in a hostel. It's all upto you.
