Admission was done on the basis of jee advanced score, and college was allotted by josaa. I availed of general EWS quota based on my financial position. For the general EWS quota, I was the last to get chemical engineering in IIT Dhanbad in the last round. Admission was done through josaa counseling, we had to fill our colleges and courses in decreasing order of preference, and based on availability and rank we got admitted to college.

I developed a keen interest in chemical engineering in the later phase of filling choices in josaa. The course and curriculum intrigued me and thus put chemical engineering in preferred courses while choice filling in JOSAA counseling. The faculty is quite qualified with many having research papers published in leading journals and some even received awards from the government of India itself. Their teaching method is lucid and hardly there is difficulty in understanding, they answer even the silliest of doubts without getting annoyed. We give quizzes every 20 to 25 days and have mid-semester examinations after quiz 2 and end-semester examinations after quiz 4, they seem easy if you have attended their lectures and paid attention to their classes.

Many companies visit the campus like Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Arcesium, De Shaw, and many more. Stipend depends on the company as well as the role for which it is offered. You need to have a good hold on your topics as well as good projects done through the years.

Students become eligible for placements in the 7th semester, many get PPOs(pre-placement offer) during their internship in the 3rd year. Overall 65.06% of B.tech students got on-campus placement. The highest package offered in 2020 was 43 LPA CTC by Microsoft(on-campus) while the average package was 8 LPA CTC. I plan on doing the job that I get during the placements hopefully, after getting the degree.

The fee hike takes place every year but is affordable for the income group of yearly income greater than 8 lakh. While for economically weaker sections fee waiver is provided, a full fee waiver for those with a yearly income of less than 1 lakh, 2/3 for those with between 1 and 5 lakh. Apart from fee waivers, there are various scholarships for bright students given on the basis of merit and need. MCM and ISMANA are the two main scholarships provided to financially aid economically weak bright students.

Life at the campus is very good. Srijan is the cultural fest of our college while Concetto is the tech fest of our college, Central Library of our college holds the reputation of being the largest in the whole of Asia. A lot of extracurricular and sports activities are held. Our college has almost all kinds of sports facilities you name it and our college has it. Student gymkhana is a social group run for students' welfare by the students.
