IIT DHANBAD, The Rising Lion

For me, IIT Dhanbad was the best pick as more or less I was getting all the IITs but the branch was of main concern to me. Despite being converted into the IIT, ISM has got a big spectrum of time, experience and facilities to nurture their students. It has got the world class facilities whether it be academic, cultural or athletic they have got them all. Being such an old college it has got a really strong alumni network. And also over the years administration has been continuously working hard by motivating and supporting us as students to explore, expand and develop our spectrum of knowledge. Admission criteria are made as that of the rest of the IITs. One needs to clear JEE advanced, I need to get a rank well into the cutoff bracket to secure a seat at IIT(ISM) Dhanbad. After clearing JEE advanced one needs to apply for JOSAA counselling rounds to secure a seat.

I always wish to pursue Mechanical engineering because of its diversity in various fields and also it aligned well with my future goals. 14:1. All the professors here are from the best colleges around the globe. All have great knowledge about their subject and motivate us as students to explore the beauty of the subject. Exams here are based on continuous evaluation but if you are here whatever may be the situation one day before the examination is the best time to start your syllabus.

All top companies like Tata, Vedanta, M&M etc. Do provide internship for core and also year after year analytic companies like Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley does provide internship opportunities. Ther is also recruitment from FANG. So our college does provide an ocean of opportunities.

Placement reports are really good with mech highest package being around 18L(for on campus) for core field whereas overall has been 90LPA. All top companies around the globe do recruit from our campus. My personal plan is to set up my own venture if not will try for a job in some MNC especially in the energy and automation field.

The fee hike policy is based on the decision made by the central government. Here there is an MCM scholarship and also fee waivers for the cast category. One can even get alumni scholarship, one can explore those on our college website.

Annal Fest - Sriram Techfest- Conceto, Hackfest Alumni meet - Basant These are a few of the many Fests and events that take place on our campus around the calendar. Also, there is inter IIT competition which is one of a kind. We have well established students gymkhana ranging all kinds of activities and sports one can think of ranging from cricket to squash, robotics, E- Cell, for cultural we have Dramatics, singing club, self development club. it's a long list you just name it we have it. For journals, I would just say we have the second biggest technical library in Asia.

The rooms are cosy but comfortable. It's twin sharing basis and provides all the necessary and much more. Mess food is okish but yup feasts are great, one can get both veg and non veg mess but yes both are separate. Well, it's a residential campus so all must take the infamous hostel.
