Remarks
The admission process had been pretty comfortable as all the things were carried out online. I was eligible to apply for DRC, IPCW, Gargi, CVS, KMV and many other colleges but I chose SGTB Khalsa over all of them as it is one of the best colleges of North Campus, thereby providing the adequate exposure. The last cut off for admission in the general category stood at 96%.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because I wanted to have an overview of all the possible subjects and fields I can study. Also, I have a keen interest in accountancy and B.com hons. focuses on it in each and every semester, thereby making it the most favourable course for me. The faculty is fine here and the crowd is also good. The term exams are held at the end of every semester whereas, the internals are conducted throughout the sem. They are pretty easy to pass and further, help you prepare well for the end term.
Internships Opportunities
The companies offering internships are really great. They offer job roles in a variety of fields and most of them are open for all the courses. Further, our college's placement cell hosts the largest internship fest which brings the top most companies to the college.
Placement Experience
The placements of the college are good. The average placement is somewhere around 4-5 lacs p.a., whereas the highest placement for the last year was 16 lacs p.a. The top 4 consulting companies do visit the college every year, thereby recruiting a decent number of students. While most of the students go for a post graduation or a masters, some also prefer getting placed in the final year.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees is a little higher than other colleges of the North Campus but scholarships are also available for students. Also, the college offers huge numbers of internships (both paid and unpaid) which provides you the best exposure of the corporate world.
Campus Life
Being the COVID batch, I too haven't explored my college properly but the infrastructure is pretty good. Annual and society fests are carried out at a large scale and are really engaging. The library is really good and has a number of books and journals available. Though, the classrooms are fine in size but the ground and auditorium is really nice. You'll love working with the college societies here.
