My sweet experience of college life.

My college is the best college in Dakshina Kannada District. As it is improving better and better in very short time. I'm glad that I'm in such a great college.

I had come through general management seat to the college. The college was opened since 2009, and within 7 years it grabbed a place in 'Best 100 private engineering college in India', according to outlook magazine survey 2015 and 2016. Other main reason to join this college is, it is the nearest engineering college from my house, and it only takes 15-20 minutes to travel from home to college or college to home. In addition to that, the college has very good placements to the students in core companies.

The course is fine. Last semester, a student of my batch topped the examinations with first rank in whole of Karnataka. One more Positive thing about the course is that, the college invests money on our course based projects, unlike other colleges where students themselves have to invest on their project.

Our college doesn't give any internship to civil students. But our civil course staff members help us in getting outside college internships on our semester vacations. Other branches like electronics and communication, computer and science, etc, the college provides good internships in core companies like, GOOGLE and MRPL.

As you know civil course don't get any on-campus placement, but only off campus placements. Other branches students have been placed in many companies like Tech Mahindra, Jsw Steels ltd., Infosys, Wipro, Adithya Birla Constrictions, etc. With an average package of rupees 30,000/- to rupees 45,000/- . We also get placed in Indian Army as well as Indian navy.

Every year we have 2 semesters. All cultural festivals will be celebrated on odd semester and all technical festivals in even semester. Cultural festivals include branch inauguration, college day, ethnic day, etc. And Technical festivals include National level innovative project competition where students from all around India take part with their creative and innovative projects.

Till my batch, I think the fee structure is cheap and feasible. But after my batch, the fee structure of students have been raised upto rupees 2,00,000/- per year for management seat. Well the CET fees are still same and unchanged. The CET fees for students are rupees 60,000/- .

There's no scholarship in our college. But there is a limited sports quota seat, which acts like a scholarship to students who are good in sports and have represented in state and national levels.

Our college show equality in gender difference. The best factor in our college is anti ragging act. Every student have to sign an assurance that he/she will never do in any kind of ragging, else he will be thrown out of the college and also have a case against him or her. The gender ratio is complete and has almost proper equal ratio. The students here come from almost every state of India. There's no differences to partially from lecturers to any religion student.

Mess food and canteen food are the worst food which we ever having. Coackroach and dead insects were found on food plates. The taste is also too bad. Last year all hostel students requested the college management to improve the food quality and quantity.

As I told you there is no kind of ragging in the college. The seniors as well as juniors are all part of the college family and share good brotherhood relationship with each other. We play together, work together and study together. Personally I felt the best relationship with my seniors.

Our examinations are combination of two parts. Internals and externals. We will have to attempt 3 internal examinations, out of which best 2 will be selected and taken average of as our internal marks. Internal exam papers will be set by college lecturers and also corrected by them. But external exam papers are set by our board and also corrected by them. And we will be given only 1 chance to attempt it.

I got admission in the institute through general management seat. I approached the college administration with my father. The administration people treated us in a good way and answered all our questions related to the course which I was opting. The eligibility to join the college for management seat are to pass 12th board examination and to get minimum percentage of 50% in total combination of physics, chemistry and mathematics. I opted for bachelor of engineering in civil. I was told by them that I had to pay 75,000/- rupees per year for the course.

Few lecturers are extremely enthusiastic to share their knowledge to us with the knowledge of books . They guide us well for our projects and help in our research work. They also help us in getting internship work in our vacation. And few lecturers are just an average lecturers who teach only the knowledge of books.
