All about DSCE in and out.

The College takes admission through KCET/COMEDK and Management Quota. I came here through COMEDK counseling which was conducted fully online in November 2020 .30% of total seats are reserved for COMEDK. Apart from DSCE , I had applied for RVCE ,BMS and Ramaiah but I chose DSCE for CSE branch which is very in-demand here. Also DSCE is autonomous & flexible. I got a rank of 2550 in COMEDK exam (Rank within 3500 for CSE required). I am from the General quota , however, College has seats reserved for SC/ST students as well and provides them scholarships too under Central and State programs. There were 3 rounds of counseling and an extended round. The counseling procedure consisted of paying 5000 of the counseling fee and 50000 of seat confirmation fee if the allotted seat in any of the rounds. Once confirmed the documents were to be verified by the college (offline/through speed post) and a payment of about 1,95,000 was to be done. Marks criteria for boards is 45% aggregate and no age limit for admission

The course curriculum is as prescribed by VTU except that questions are set up and examined internally.CSE and IT are the most in-demand branches here due to excellent placements in companies in Bangalore and abroad also. One batch has 80 students for one teacher per subject. There are 16 Engineering branches and also MBA,MCA, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Dental ,Journalism and B.Sc courses. Faculties are qualified, most as M.Tech, and a lot of them either completed PhD or are doing PhD now. Exams are conducted every 1 month .They are scheduled as 2 exams a day. Every semester has 3 internals and 1 End Sem exam.The difficulty is not too much.If one refers to the college material provided by teachers, it is enough to score a good GPA. For proper understanding, one can approach teachers/libraries for extra knowledge and better understanding.Teachers are helpful in terms of the subject as well as life advice. They point out the importance of a topic in higher studies like GATE/ GRE.

Students apply for internships off-campus by their contact. Students have interned in software developer roles in companies like Tata Motors,BSNL,DRDO,JSW Steel, Philips, and at IITs Nationwide for research internships under professors. A student won competitions to bag Internships in The Linux Foundation with a stipend of $3000, by working on ELISA Project. 3 students have made it to GSOC till now.

Training &Placement cell brings 100+ companies like Amazon, IBM, Microsoft, Delloite,CISCO as star companies offering 30+ LPA Infosys, Accenture as mass recruiters .2021 recorded highest of 32 LPA from AMD. About 80% of students are placed. Even the civil branch has had a 21lpa package. The average package lies at 5 LPA. Students can apply from the 6th sem onwards for jobs. Some get PPO from internships. Total offers made in 2020-21 was 1926, mostly in SDE and analyst roles. Some students opt for higher studies and research in India and abroad. Some students have successfully running startups as well. I have planned for sitting for placements as of now.

The fee for COMEDK is INR 262430 1st year, 255340 for 2nd & 3rd year, and 259360 for 4th year, and a total of 10.32 Lakhs. For KCET(Karnataka students only), the total fee is 4,60,352 for 4 years. College hostel charges 1.35 L/yr. Scholarships are provided as follows: AIC-DSU Foundation, Post Matric Scholarships Scheme for Minorities, Merit cum means Scholarship for precessional and technical courses,post-matric scholarship Pwd students, scholarship by Ministry of Labour & Employment GOI, central scheme of scholarship for College & University students, prime minister scholarship scheme for RPF/RPSF, central armed police forces and Assam rifles ward of martyred police personnel. Financial support to students of North Eastern Region, Saksham scholarship for specially-abled students, E-pass for OBC candidates & Jindal Scholarship. 80% of students get campus placements from Amazon, Microsoft and 100+ companies offering 32L.P.A. and Civil has recorded a 21.9 LPA package. Known for its beautiful lush green campus with hills&park in 30 acres. There are 2 major fests Furore-student fest &Vibrations -inter-college fest conducted in the March and Saturday fest-Cultura with Celebrities like Raghu Dixit,Rashmika Mandanna, famous bands Swarathma , Beyond obscure,etc. The library is air-conditioned on 5 floors and has digital updating of records of books prescribed by VTU and many authors adequate for knowledge. They are readily available except before exams. Classrooms are smart classes with lifts in the building for 1st yr. The campus has 1 gym for students timed 6-10 a.m. and 4-6 pm. It has a stadium, basketball, volleyball&football court and coaches for it. Bodybuilding is also encouraged. One can play badminton, squash, carrom,chess&cricket on the pitch. Yoga and meditation center is also participation in VTU intercollege sports is seen.
