Remarks

I chose Patna College because it one of the best colleges in the city. Admission was merit-based. Firstly the college releases its admission form and the students are required to fill the same. After a few days, the college releases its cut-offs and the students are required to check their 12th marks whether they clear the cutoff or not. The students who clear the cutoff get admission to the college. The minimum criteria for a student to fill the admission form are as follows: 1. The student must have passed 10+2 exams with a minimum of 55% marks. 2. All the documents must be true and should be submitted for checking as and when required.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose BA because I've to do UPSC and it would help me in achieving my goals. All the technical courses are available in my college. All vocational courses have a good scope in my college. If we focus on exam patterns, students have to face setup exams before the finals and have to pass the final exams too. The setup exam is taken in October or November.

Placement Experience

4

The placement percentage of our college is around 10%. The highest package offered is 3.6 LPA and the lowest package offered is 1.5 LPA. Save the children, world vision, care India, etc, are some organizations where the students get placed. 3-40% of students get an opportunity to do an internship in the above-mentioned organization. The top role offered to the students of our course is a field supervisor.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is feasible here in comparison to other colleges which helps in bringing up the underprivileged students. Our college also provides scholarships to financially backward students and also to low castes students. According to my admission fees, I was charged 1900 at the time of admission and 300 at the time of registration for the first year. The fee structure for vocational courses is a little higher than that of simple courses.

Campus Life

3.5

Our college building is heritage. The main academic block has dutch architecture, built about 300 years ago. Our college provides a wifi facility with efficient speed. Our department does not have a separate library, but good books are available in the central library. The canteen facility is not so good. In my college maximum all events are celebrated like- Republic day, Saraswati puja is celebrated very widely in my college, Holi. And many more festivals are celebrated.

Remarks:

The state open university follows the rule and regulations of UGC, so the fee structure is transparent and very much nominal which is also much lower than any other college in the state. The payment mode like bank draft, online payment etc. is easily accepted by the college. Cash payments is not acceptable.
