College management of K. J. Somaiya college of engineering is very good and I think it is one of the best college in Mumbai.
Entrance Preview
I took MHT-CET and scored 166 out of 200.I opted for this college because it is one of the best engineering college in Mumbai.
Course Curriculum Overview
As the college is autonomous the course syllabus is somewhat different from Mumbai University syllabus. Also as I am still in the 1st year, the syllabus of all branches is same. But from 2nd year onwards our syllabus will be changed according to the course opted. I would assess 8 out of 10.
Internships Opportunities
Yes. K. J. Somaiya College of engineering do provide internship. But as I am a student of 1st year, I don't have experience of internship and don't know about the stipend. But I am pretty sure it'll be more than what other colleges provide.
Placement Experience
K. J. Somaiya College of engineering is best known for placements. It is just because of the companies which come here for recruitment in the last few years. The students are well placed in prestigious and famous companies. Average package is approximately 4.20 lacs per annum.
College Events
K. J. Somaiya is also very popular because of the events that are celebrated in our college. Technical festivals like Abhiyantriki, cultural festivals like Symphony and many more see celebrated here and students get enough of opportunities to show their skills.
Fee Structure And Facilities
K. J. Somaiya college of engineering has an expensive fee structure. I think it has the highest fees than other colleges. But it also has seats reserved for economically backward students like TFWS(tuition fee waiver scheme) seats which help those students.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes. K. J. Somaiya college of engineering offer many scholarships like Tata scholarship which provides 50,000 rupees to economically backward students on purely merit basis.
Campus Life
Gender ratio in K. J. Somaiya college of engineering is close to one because the number of girls is equal to the number if boys. Campus life is pretty much exciting. K. J. S. C. E has best workshops on robotics, internet of things, etc and carries out many extra curricular activities. Sports is also encouraged here.
Hostel Facilities
I don't stay in hostel. But my friends do stay in hostel and they say that hostel of K. J. Somaiya college of engineering is pretty nice. The rents of hostel is also convenient. It provides fast speed internet and lot more facilities. Mess food is also good.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes. Senior students and alumni of K. J somaiya college of engineering is very helpful. They always encourage junior students.
Exam Structure
The exam structure is completely different from that of Mumbai University. It does not extend End semester examinations upto one month long. Everyday schedule of lectures and laboratory practicals is also pretty much convenient unlike other colleges of Mumbai University.
Admission
I got admission in this college through CAP rounds. I got a seat in this college in the 1st CAP round itself and I took admission here. I got a TFWS seat here so I freezed this college and went to take admission on the first day of admissions. My admission process was completed on that day only and I think it was on 31st of July, 2016.
Faculty
The faculty of K. J. Somaiya College of engineering is very helpful as it is one of the best engineering college in Mumbai. I would scale faculty of our college on 8 out of 10 for being very much helpful. I think our college has one of the best faculty.
