Remarks
The best part of SBSC is that it comes under the University of Delhi. SBSC is the best college on the south campus for Commerce background after Venky. It has the finest faculty for commerce and arts, I’ll highly recommend anyone if he/she wishes to pursue b.com prog./hons. and get a chance to get into SBSC. Its admission process is very clear and simple all you need to be active on the DU portal. It’s confusing while choosing among the colleges when cutoffs are released, so my honest opinion will be “If you’re eligible for SBSC, go for it. Venky>Gargi(W)>SBSC for commerce.
Course Curriculum Overview
I've heard many good remarks about this college from some seniors, especially for this course. Giving you the ground reality: Some professors are very much talented but on the other hand, some don't even know how to teach, they were just experimenting on us. They say that they have done a PhD. But it seems they just got the certificates without any talent. In DU, exams are taken at the end of each semester and they take two internals before every end sem exams
Internships Opportunities
There are many internships outside the campus, there are just the societies inside the campus and all the societies are very decent, don't invest your time and energy in any, it's better that you choose an internship outside the college if possible go for offline internships whose job role matches your goals and interest areas, which will really matter. Online internships are useless if you are not doing much better work
Placement Experience
I have never been in college placement. I've just registered for the same and waiting for what will happen next. There are some criteria for registration that the students must belong to this college only, they must have scored more than 6.5 cgpa.
Fees and Financial Aid
All the colleges under DU have their fees very minimal, SBSC asks for around 7000 every year. And even less for SC/ST categories. It's an average package from the job we get after the placement is below average which is 4L PA.
Campus Life
Annual fests happen every February but all the fests are comparatively inferior to that of other DU colleges. No doubt, most of the books are available in the library, you can have access very easily. Offline Classes are very decent, students are nice but the infrastructure is too old and doesn't come with air conditioners or smart classes, even the computer labs are very outdated looking. Many people have their quality time in the field with their friends and even after being a year in the college I don't know how to have access on the Games stuffs
Hostel Facilities
There is no hostel facility for the students of this college. There is a canteen and a coffee stall inside the campus which serve decent quality of foodstuff. They are not bad to avoid, but I don't like any of them, they just put stuff which gives them high profits not liked by the students.
Interview Experience
No for B.com(Hons.), admission was totally merit basis: 12th Percentage, its first cutoff was around 96% for the General category. You should only focus on doing your best on your boards, it may happen that it will surely take entrance test coz of cancellation of boards21'.
Other Applied Colleges
Chandigarh University, Jain University | BBA
Why would someone go for a private college if he/she gets a chance for DU
