BIT MESRA gives admissions to candidates through the jee mains score or rank via csab or josaa counseling. You need to have a rank under 25000AIR to get admission to this college. For cse branch, Your rank has to be under 10K.It a very good college with excellent placement records from many years.

This is the single worst thing in the college and the root cause of (directly and indirectly) everything wrong in the college. They are old-fashioned, orthodox, Sometimes misogynistic , not at all student friendly, skeptical to change the type of people. They will hinder your progress at every stage. It will be rare that the administration will come to help you rather than annoy you. For a single sign you need to run from pillar to post. It’s worse than a municipal corporation. Light goes off at 1 AM in ni8 yet still they will not switch on the generator. Examination results come out 3 months after you have given your last exam. Forgoing for a six-month internship, they will grill you as your going for an ISIS stint. Unless the administration becomes receptive to the concerns of the students, innovative, visionary, and responsible, this college will move ahead by 5 steps when the entire world would have moved ahead by 10 steps.

For mechanical engineering, some companies do come to give internships to students. But few students are able to get a stipend from the internship. Some companies like Tata motor Tata Steel Maruti Suzuki Mahendra etc provide internships to the students. For the computer science department, there is a various opportunity for internship. if you work hard during your internship then you may get a pre-placement offer from the company which is very cool after that you will be relaxed. the overall internship opportunity is good in bit mesra.

Now coming to the most important part of college for some people. You will hear about 7 LPA average package, 21 LPA packages, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs and whatever big MNC you have heard off. But mind you, max of the good companies are for CSE and IT. Some for ECE. You leave them aside, the placement scene is pretty dull and chimeric for other branches. Average package comes down to 4 LPA. In branches like mechanical and chemical only about 50% max students were placed. So if you do not belong to the so-called “Star” branches, have reality in your head and work hard according to your goals. Overall It is a good college. You will often feel that 10 Lacs and 2 years of JEE prep was not worth this college. Someway it’s right. Aim for IITs , IIITs and top NITs rather. But if you do not get better college, then come here, work hard, make friends, do the things you are passionate about, find your calling, make memories and the last day tear will say it all.

A fee of bit mesra for four year is approx to 13 to 14 lakhs including hostel mess and other fees.you get scholarship on the basis of your jee rank. Other scholarship are also given on basis of your score in semesters.if your cgpa is above 9 then you get 100 percent scholarship on your tution fees.

Well if your fav movie is Dil Chahta Hai, then you are headed for serious disenchantment as reality is far from it. BIT is not a “Hindu” college situated at the heart of Delhi. It is in one of the least developed state’s capital. Also Mesra is actually a kind of village 16kms from Ranchi . So yes , life is difficult with a bit of academic pressure and old-fashioned administration. Still one can have fun through club events, fests(BITOTSAV and Pantheon), one’s own college group, birthdays, and the endless discussions taking place in Hostel from mess food to American elections. So have your expectations toned down from an ideal U-la-la college life to a normal campus life . I would advise you to go and talk with as many people you can, make friends and be nice with them and go create as many memories as you can. The Last day tear will speak for itself.

I am sure from the first day onwards that the 780-acre campus we have is one of the best in the country. It’s beautiful and one can roam about freely and enjoy serenity in the lap of nature. Coming to infrastructure hostel facilities are good, mess food is above average, classes and labs are being refurbished, 24*7 LAN connection, etc are good. Also, the campus is being refurbished where classes are being upgraded and the campus is to be made wifi-enabled fully. Now coming to the cons, there is severe electricity and water problem on the campus with water being the principal irritant in a student’s life at BIT. Also, the generator is not switched on every time the light goes off which can be very exasperating. And because of the location obviously one cannot enjoy the amenities available in the city.
