Vidyalankar Institute of Technology is good like any other engineering college in Mumbai but fees is too high

I applied for lots of colleges but their cutoff for the general category was higher than my marks, so I couldn't take admission there. I didn't take any quota for admission, as my admission was done as per cutoff rules set by the government. The admission criteria of my course were simple as we had to be having higher marks in our course cutoff criteria with 12th standard, 65% above in boards. Also, we had to submit necessary documents like mark sheets of 10th,12th standard, leaving certificate of school, domicile certificate, birth certificate.

I chose this course as I was an Information technology enthusiast. 1 Faculty per 60 students were allotted for one lecture. Other than that, for labs, 1 faculty would handle 20 students and the same for mentor guidance. Faculties are highly qualified with Ph.D. degrees and various other high qualifications, their teaching methods are very understandable. At the end of one topic, there is 1 test conducted for revision and better understanding. Exams were on a properly scheduled timetable, and exams were easy to pass if one goes with nice preparations. Also, faculties would help prior exams in understanding difficult topics much better.

Internship activities are really low. Some of the companies that come are kids galaxy, The Sparks Foundation with free internship opportunities. They give the internship in courses like web development, data analysis and business development, software testing, etc.

From the 7th semester, students become eligible for campus placements. Some of the companies like TCS, L&T, Infosys, Capgemini visit our college and there are multiple offers made by those companies to join in various positions. The highest package was 37 LPA in the year 2020 with a japan based company which took only 1 candidate from the campus and the average package is 3 LPA as per job profile.70% of students get placed at the end of the last year. My plan after getting the degree is to do Mtech.

The fees for the general category are 139880. I am from the general category so I couldn't avail any scholarships or financial assistance. Yet people from special categories were hugely benefitted due to scholarships and financial assistance. But overall the fees are too high. It is difficult to pay such a huge amount at once, so this is one of the cons.

There are lots of technical and nontechnical activities happening throughout the year. Tech fest is conducted every month whereas the annual fest namely Verve is held in the month of February. The library is having numerous books on different subjects and types. Even there are 2 libraries, one for books borrowing and the other for reading silently or completing any assignment work. Classrooms are full-fledged by sufficient amenities, even there are modern technology teaching devices too. Extracurricular activities are happening throughout the year with different types and also meetings with professional people from respective fields are welcomed for thought sharing and guidance. There are lots of technical groups and non-technical groups that can be found in the college like ITSA, IEEE, ACM, CSIT, Dance club of VIT, singing club. Also, there is a fun activity every Friday known as " Friday pathshala".
