Remarks

The admission takes place through the JEE main rank on the JAC portal (and not JoSAA). To get the higher branches like COE one has to get a very good rank (around 5k to be safe if you have the Delhi quota and belong to the general category and around 2k if you do not belong to Delhi) but for biotechnology, the task is much easier, a rank of below 50k would safely land you into this stream irrespective of the region you belong to. Last year the cut-off went as low as 1.5 lkh for the Delhi quota students. The counseling process is as easy as it can be. In the noncovered times, it used to take place offline in the university auditorium. You present all your documents like your mark sheets and a drop year certificate if you dropped a year before joining and you're done. A domicile for Delhi candidates is not required. If you have done your schooling in Delhi that is enough for you to bag the Delhi quota.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The curriculum has now been updated and you study only what is important to you. You have the choice to choose what you want to study. Although the curriculum mentions a lot more subjects than what are actually offered to you to choose from still you get to study all the major subjects. There's almost no need to study anything extra apart from the college curriculum if you're aiming for competitive exams like the GATE exam for your further studies. Regarding the student-faculty ratio, the biotechnology branch has the best ratio in all of the college. It stands somewhere around 7:1 which is pretty good. You get a lot of individual attention, the faculty has all the time to hear to your doubts, all of them are very supportive and always ready to help you and guide you. The professors are well qualified. The semester exams are moderate and easy to pass if you listen during the lectures. All the standard books are used and you can score well if you refer them for your exams.

Internships Opportunities

3

As far as the biotech branch is concerned you rarely get any opportunities for internships from the college. You need to find them on your own. Although it is not difficult to find one, you still want to find some contacts in the desired lab or company in order to make the process easier for you. If you wish to have a core internship you can still sit for their interviews from the 5th Sem onwards. If you keep yourself engaged with labs and gain some research experience in your first and second year, or even during the third year, you stand a high chance to bag an international internship opportunity which are fully paid such as the khorana fellowship, IST Austria, NIG Japan. You mostly need to work in the research field in some good lab in or out of the country. Mostly the professors want you to do something related to biotechnology only during your internship so it's better to choose core internships than the ones which the university offers.

Placement Experience

4.5

NSUT is best known for its placements, although the placements in our branch are not as good as those in other branches but if you really wish to be placed no one stops you. You can bag software related jobs or get yourself into any non core jobs in sales or management field. The core job opportunities as in most of the college for the biotech branch are almost non existent. You definitely need at least a post grad degree in order to get a decent core job in this field. The placement season begins after you start with your 7th Sem and continues till the end the end the college. There are lot of companies that visit the campus (over 170). Companies like Facebook, phonePe, JP Morgan, Amazon, Goldman Sachs allow biotech branch students to sit in their selection process. Although the completion is very high still you can bag a very handsome package from this branch as well. The average package hovers around 7-8lpa. I wish to pursue Mtech/MS after the completion of my course

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for the 2021 batch starts from 1.35lakh per annum in the first year to 1.76 lakh per annum in the final year. The fees is hiked every year and as far as I know, the fees for the 2024 batch went as high as 2.29 lakh for the final year (stating at 1.9 lakh in the first year). This is the major cost that you encounter during the studies. All the books are available in the library so you need not buy them. Apart from that some professors also provide you with the book pdfs and they are even available online for your reference. One can also get concession on DTC buses with the student I card. There are a lot of students who have availed for govt scholarships for their studies. The university also runs the CSVPK scheme under which it provided scholarships to the performers and the needies. The university also provides scholarships for performing well in competitive exam like GATE and CAT

Campus Life

4

The college conducts the annual cultural fest "Moksha" in march. You don't want to miss this time of yours at the campus. Resonanz another cultural fest that takes place along with Innovision the tech fest of NSUT in October. The campus, well it is lush green and you'll find peacocks roaming in the campus. Although you might feel that the rules in the college are strictly according to college standards. There is a college canteen which serves average food but accommodates very few students at a time. A few canteens that earlier existed have been removed and new buildings have been constructed with modern facilities in their place. But old buildings are not the best to study in. The library is of moderate size, but you get all the books you need for your studies. There is a whole list of societies and clubs that you could join- the dramatics club, dance societies, fine arts, finance and economics, and a lot more. You are always encouraged to take part in extracurricular activities.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

When it comes to curriculum everything us fine accept 1st year curriculum. My branch is ece in 1st year i have to study chemistry and physics which is no use for anybody in future it is just waste of time pretty outdated. For 2,3 and 4th year curriculum is far better than what it is in 1st year. Odd semester starts form August and after 2 month we have to give midsem exam.1 month after midsem we have to give endsem. There is very short time period between midsem and endsem examinations.Even semester starts form January everything is same as that of odd semester.

Placements are good in DTU. Usually a student is eligible to sit in placements from 4th year. Last year 325+ companies visited the campus like google, abode, Amazon, Microsoft, zomato, samsung, maruti suzuki, etc. They all have made 2050+ offers. The highest domestic package was offered by Atlanssian of 82.05LPA. The overall average package was 16.71LPA. The average package of my branch (Production and Industrial Engineering) was 12.34LPA. And in tech branches like CSE, IT it was around 24-25 LPA. Almost everyone is allowed to sit for placements. In PIE branch around 60-65% of student got placed in on campus.
