Remarks

College management was pretty bad in administrative stuff but college wise its a good college.

Entrance Preview

I got through JEE,ranked 11k odd in the exam ..in second counselling..It was the best choice back then with st. thomas.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Its not entirely focused on research..more of a old structure in the course that west bengal technology board follows. But have some different programs running to get the students up to industry standard with IBM and other companies. New technology introduction was not there in our time.

Internships Opportunities

No, the college doesn't provide internship but some programs with the IT companies but no stipend for that.

Placement Experience

3

First, TCS came for campus recruitment they offered 3.18 lacs per annum then their was Infosys pool campus drive where they offered- 3.25 lpa. TechM came at last for cse with 3 lpa. Around 35 out of 100 got placed in our batch. Other companies also there for pool campusing and other departments.

College Events

4.5

We had a technological festival, cultural fests and sports fest. It was quite big and other colleges all over west bengal used to come to the fest and participate. Sports fest was very famous and participation was good. We saw some good artists featuring for our cultural fest as well.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It was less in the 1 st year, then standard in the last 3 years. it was about 3.5 lacs totally which is standard for private colleges in west bengal. Per sem it was in the range of 35 thousands to 40 thousands. there is a starting deposit of around 30 k also.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yeah it was offered there was scholarship for OBC loan facilities were also there for needy students.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life was pretty chilled out and we had a varity of different things in the campus. Gender ratio was very good and sports wise it was in the top. Football, cricket, table tennis all things were pretty common. Tech fest was also there were we had robotics and all.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

In my time there was no hostel facilities as far as I can remember. People used to live in mess and the facilities varied from place to place. As it was in a important geographical location in Kolkata all the amenities were available and easy to get.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network was good back then but somewhat broken there are some seniors doing very interesting stuff across the industry.

Exam Structure

It was moderate we have 2 internal exams per semester and the level is okay. Labs where pretty frequent and the set up and infrastructure was good. It was not hectic but its also not a cake walk. We used to have around 1 lab per day generally and that tend to run around 2 hours.

Admission

After selecting the college went to the college next day for filling out the form. Next day filled up the form in the college where the money was taken and brief procedure walkthrough was given like starting date of the session,c ourse breakdown and brochures.

Faculty

4

Faculties of the college was moderate except few facilities who tries really hard. Good faculty members were there in electronics department and computer application. Encouragement for writing papers was also a notable point in the college. Overall it was okay back then.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
