Applied for JOSAA (JEE Mains Seat Allocation) after which I got, Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra but got Production Technology, which was completed south from my interest in Computer Science & Engineering. After waiting for a couple of rounds, I got CSE in SLIET, Longowal, so I stumbled upon it.

I chose this course as I got my interest, Computer Science & Engineering in this college, with the perks of being a Central Deemed University (CFTI to be specific), I thought this would do justice to my career prospects. Since the university's name was not quite ubiquitous, and the information available at that time was also not quite adequate, I was skeptical about choosing this program. Along with the fact that the Course Fee being a mere 26000/semester (52000/yr), added a bit of seasoning to my skeptics.

Internships offered by the institute are very rare, kind of, once in a blue moon. In general, students seek internships at their personal level. Companies that visit campus (sometimes) are mostly from the nearby Punjab Region.

Students get eligible for sitting for placement from the 7th semester onwards. Batch placements include the likes of NCR, Microsoft, Accenture, TCS, Infosys, Capgemini, Cognizant, Modak Analytics, Mahindra & Mahindra, HUL, Godrej, Nestle, etc. However, only some of the mass recruiters visit the campus, big names are grabbed by off campus placements by students' own research.

The university holds an awesome value for money, as the course fee is a mere 26000/semester (52000/yr), which provides ample amount resources to be lived comfortably on the campus. Scholarship here is based on your JEE Mains Rank as one needs to be in the top 5 of the highest JEE MAINS Rank holders among the college's batch with the annual salary of parents being less than 1,00,000/yr with a valid Financial Certificate. Another provision for the scholarship is strictly based on the financial income of parents (Poor Students Aid Fund), here Jee Mains Rank doesn't hold any value. SC/STs possessing Punjab Domicile can also opt for this scholarship. These scholarships exempt the student from paying the Tuition Fees, which is around 20,000/semester (40,000/yr). Students can opt for state-wise scholarships, which some states provide to the residents of their state for eg:- Bihar, UP govt provide own scholarships to the students. Jobs Opportunities here are not up to the mark.

The college provides: 24x7 WiFi, RO Drinking Water, Fully Air Conditioned Labs with Proper Equipments and technicians, ample amount of Halls for organizing various events, a lush green huge campus of around 480 acres, spacious rooms accommodating 3 persons for the first 2 years, and then in the 3rd year, students get accommodated to single person rooms (based on Academic Performance), while everyone gets single room facility in their 4th year. All this for just 26k price/sem seems a great value. Every department is equipped with some Smart e-Classrooms that take care of the modern needs of learning. The campus holds all the facilities that any major college has: Sports Grounds, Swimming Pool, Student Activity Center, etc. Every year, Annual Technical Fest named "techFEST" and the Annual Cultural Fest "Madhuram" are organised. Many Technical Groups named:- Endeavour (Robotics Club), Junkyard Warriors, Juggernauts, etc along with some cultural groups work in harmony.

The hostel campus has spacious rooms accommodating 3 persons for the first 2 years, and then in the 3rd year, students get accommodated to single person rooms (based on Academic Performance), while everyone gets single room facility in their 4th year. All this for just at the stated price seems a great value. The accommodation provides an ample amount of resources to be lived comfortably on the campus. 24x7 WiFi, RO Drinking Water, Fully Air Conditioned Labs with Proper Equipments and technicians, ample amount of Halls for organizing various events, a lush green huge campus of around 480 acres, and a separate lodging facility for the visitors in Transit Accommodation and Guest House.
