Entrance Preview

I had heard about this college form my cousin and enquired about it and came to know that it is ISO certified college and hence decided to get admitted there.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum was good. The lecturers and professors were knowledgeable and skilled and were very helpful. The syllabus was also as per the latest industry standards. There were also a lot of extra curricular activities like sports tournaments and seminars.

Internships Opportunities

We didn't use to have internship at that time but they may have come up with that now. Usually the professors were very encouraging and was always helpful.

Placement Experience

3

The Placement of the college was not that great till our batch but have significantly improved after 2008. Earlier it was affiliated under Utkal University and now it is affiliated under Biju Pattanaik University of Technology and the placements have significantly improved since then.

College Events

3.5

There was many events celebrated in our college, like College annual fests, seminars, sports tournaments to keep the students engaged and motivated at their studies and to have a good balance in life. There were also some students who had enrolled for Yoga classes and martial arts.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure was pretty feasible. There was separate fee structure for in state candidates and for out state candidates. But comparatively it was pretty decent compared to the private engineering colleges now a days. Moreover they do not appreciate donation seats much and look for talented students.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, The college offers study loan from all major banks and financial institutions with minimal Interest on study loans. They also halp and facilitate to get the loan approvals.

Campus Life

4

The campus gender ratio was not that great to be honest. I was form It and we had 8 girls and 82 boys which clearly shows a poor diversity ratio in gender. But if we talk about regional diversity , it was pretty decent as we had students from all parts of India.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel facility was good enough and the food was not bad either. I have heard students form other colleges complaining about their hostel food but ours was pretty decent comparatively. They also use to take feedback about the food quality and hygiene.

Exam Structure

The exam structure was as per the University standards. They have 8 semesters and over and above they use to conduct unit tests every month and also conduct practical tests periodically. Overall the exam structure was of high standards and was at par with other reputed institutions.

Admission

The admission process was very organised and streamlined. They had posted advertisements in newspapers and I have purchased college brochures and went through the procedure step by step and was able to get admitted. There was no donation fees charged and it was entirely upon merit.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty was very skilled and knowledgeable and was always ready to help. The labs were equipped with latest technology and equipment. The HOD of each department was experienced professors from reputed institutions and were able to run it well.

Placement Experience:

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.
