NCHMCT JEE. The hotel industry is one of the the developing sector in Indian economy keeping in mind the my future growth i opted for this course. The admission is through JEE and my rank was 621.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is very good with lots of practical session along with theory. Out of 6 semester one semester is for industrial training wherein we get the on the floor experience of the industry and that helps one to choose his field of interest. The semester term end consist of final exam and also the internal sessions.
Internships Opportunities
No internship. The hotel did not provide any internship though their were other programmes.
Placement Experience
Placements are very good , companies from different field come for campus interview. The salary package differs from company to company and position offered but the salary offered is always according to the industry norms and trend. Companies like ITC Hotel , Taj Hotels, Oberoi Hotels. Lemon tree hotels, Bose, Dominos, Mc Donald come every year for recruitment.
College Events
Annual Function, Sports day, Regular national & international cooking competition. The college was very much active in co-curricular activities also, the students were encouraged to take part in inter college competitions like cooking competition or bar tending competition. The annual function and sports day was also organised.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure was feasible as it was a government college the fees was very reasonable, though it was raised in second semester from around 26 K to 33 K, the fee is different from semester to semester but on an average it was 33-34 K per semester, which included lunch in college dining hall.
Fees and Financial Aid
Not very clear about this. As i did not took any of the above i am not very sure about any scholarship but yes the college was under government so it was very much possible.
Exam Structure
The exam structure is very good with 3 hour paper and proper preparatory leaves were also given before the exams. The exams were subjective type and covered all the major and important aspect of the course. The pepper were for 100 marks fro major subjects and for allied subjects like accounts , IT, marketing it was 50 marks.
Admission
After clearing the exam, we had to report to the centre allotted for admission process, after submitting all the related documents, we had to choose for the college and give preference accordingly after submitting the preference an the basis of rank and preference the college was allotted.
Faculty
The faculty was very helpful and supportive , they were from the same industry with in hand experience of top most hotels. The faculty was aware about the recent trends in the industry and was very much in contact with their counterparts and friends in industry. The notes given were very helpful and i still have them with me for regular studying.
