IIT Roorkee is among the top IITs of the country and that is why I opted to go with it for my MBA. The institute has been placed 12th by NIRF in its 2020 MBA rankings. It has approvals by AICTE & UGC. For MBA admissions the work experience, CAT exam score, & Interview performance of the students are checked .
Course Curriculum Overview
Talking about the faculty, there are 20+ teaching faculty members in IIT Roorkee. The team consists of experts from all different management domains. The methods of teaching here are also very effective for learning of the students. The total duration of MBA is 2 years and it has totally 6 terms within. With each term having a time period of 10-12 weeks.
Internships Opportunities
Although they are provide a good opportunity to learn and interact in industrial fields, but I haven't participated in the internships. A good number of companies were there for the round and most of the students opted for it.
Placement Experience
The IIT Brand tag itself attracts a great number of recruiters. For our MBA batch 35 Recruiters were there in the drive and 80+ offers were provided under the program. The highest package offered to MBA was INR 18.68 LPA with the average package being around INR 10 LPA. Companies like Infosys,Wipro, KPMG and HCL were the top recruitering companies of the drive .
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure at DOMS, IIT Roorkee is is almost the same as DMS IIT Delhi. The total fee for MBA here is INR 8.33 lacs in which INR 4 lacs of tuition fee is also included. For financial help of needful students the Institute helps them in availing the facility. For appreciation of the meritorious students different merit based scholarships are also there.
Campus Life
The Institute is situated in the beautiful Uttrakhand and has a green environment around it. The famous events here are Sangharsh, Regalia and Cognizance. Our library has books and ebooks across different fields and domains. The famous clubs and committies of the institute are MarkIIT, VyavaHR, Sports and Media cell.
Hostel Facilities
The hostlier life is something one remembers for the lifetime. The same is for me our hostel days were filled with joy, excitement and many more memorable things. There are Totally 13 hostels and they are separately distributed to both boys and girls. The rooms are available in both Single & sharing basis and had all our requirements within. The mess food was delicious and the best thing was the Sunday morning Allo puri.
Admission
The CAT percentile for admissions to the MBA program here stood around 94 percentile. The students who apply for admissions are shortlisted on basis of academic records,work experience and CAT score. Shortlisted student's then appear in the interview round and their performance in all different rounds was referred to for final selections.
