An Honest Review on Sur Institute of Technology (SURTECH)

The college is quite good with infrastructure with a Xerox center inside the campus which comes real beneficial when you're a technical student. There's a playground inside the campus, which is big enough to shed your study load. A library with enough content to feed your brain for the good. I'm not a hosteler, so don't know what's it with college, but as of I've heard it's good. The admission process was good and easy, the admission cell helps throughout and is very cooperative. And most importantly, ragging is banned inside the campus. So good for freshers.

I have a great fascination for automotive and transports which basically dragged me to choose this course. So far the college is having one faculty on every 20 students, which might be increasing with years passing. The faculty is quite professional and friendly both at the same time which becomes really beneficial when you're a technical student. They're good enough with concepts and practical knowledge with a good hold on teaching with an add-on benefit, that, you can clear your doubts as many times you want. They're always available. There are two semesters every year and two internal exams every semester. Question's difficulty levels are really good for which it the no. of exams are good enough for any student to get filled with knowledge and prepared for finals.

There're many Internship Opportunities offered by the college itself, like INTERNSHALA internships, along with this, the college is also registered in AICTE-TULIP Portal for many other opportunities also. In the present week, students of the department will be applying for an Internship Drive with a Pune-based Design Company-ELEATION.

As usual, the placement eligibility is from the 6th semester onwards. The college is holding a tie-up with the brand Hyundai, which offers a constant placement to the students which are good hold for the department. Besides this other companies that give a constant visit for the campusing are TATA AIG, TOUJOURS PERITUS, REPOSE ENERGY, CHEGG INDIA, BYJU's. Recently, two seniors of the college have received a package of 8 LPA from BYJU's. The average percentage of the college placement is near about 75-80%.

The Fee structure is such, that, 95000 for the 1st year and, 45000 per sem then. Their plenty of scholarships to avail like Swami Vivekananda Merit cum Means Scholarship, Aikashree by west Bengal Minorities Development, Finance Corporation, Oasis Scholarship for Reserved Category, and many more. Some private scholarships too, like, S. R. Jindal Scholarship, etc. Financial Assistance is ok, as I don't have much idea of it.

Life at the campus is pretty balanced between studies and shredding its pressure. Things that are helpful in shredding are the fests, i.e., the Tech Fest (MANTHAN), which is generally conducted in the month of March, and the Cultural Fest (SPARSH), which is conducted in March, after the Tech Fest. And definitely, games and sports and there's also a room called the COMMON ROOM where you can find most of the indoor games and sports which is the indeed the lifesaver in offseason and also the stadium inside the campus where we play games and celebrate occasions too like Republic day, Independence Day, Holi, etc. There are also many activities and competitions are conducted like debate, drawing, etc. There're some Facebook pages too, which are run by students, one of'em is the CSE group FB account. There’s a lot that makes students more comfortable on the campus. Just the cons if we count, is the cafeteria or canteen, the food quality, and variety is not very good, you know, as most of the colleges.
