College life: Hard but Fun

I applied for Ramjas College as it offered me the course I preferred and it comes in the top colleges of India. For admission, I applied to the OBC quota, which increased my chances of getting the course. Criteria of admission are that you should score 80 to 75% in class 12th from the recognized board. You need to fill DU admission form for taking admission to any college affiliated with the university. Then colleges release their separate admission forms with cut-off lists. The admission process requires you with your documents like 12th class certificate, University, and College admission forms, birth certificate/10th certificate, Central Caste Certificate, Domicile, Aadhar card etc. for document verification and submission. And the process is completed with the payment of fees.

I choose this course as it helped me in achieving my ultimate goal of becoming CA. The faculty is highly qualified. Professors with their experience and expertise make everything easier and interesting. They use student-friendly teaching methods. Exams are scheduled appropriately and it is not easy to crack them. But that why we have such an amazing faculty, they make things a lot easier, and your hard work also counts.

Unlike placement, internships are available for first-year ies also. Companies that come for placement also hire interns for 2 to 3 months. Some are paid, others are unpaid. But since I didn't sit for an internship, I am not much aware of this field.

Placement is available only for final year students. Companies like EY, EWC, GT, Mazars etc. provides a package of around 3 to 5 lakhs per annum. Many of my fellow mates were also selected for the placement. As my career option needs an internship experience for 3 years, I sat for placement for EY, I even got selected. After the internship, I plan to sit for further exams in my field.

The same amount can be high for some and not so high for others. Yes, fees are high for some underprivileged students, but college provides some really good scholarships for BPL students, which can make things better for them. Government Scholarships like NSP (national scholarship portal) and other such scholarships are also available. Students above 95% marks can avail themselves for them.

The annual fest is conducted every year in the month of February. It is the biggest cultural event of the college. It consists of many games, competitions, stalls like books, street food, handicraft, and the highlight- star night. The College library is big enough to have all kinds of books, newspapers, and magazines. You can spend the whole day, and yet not decide what to read!! Books are available for issue. Classrooms are big, spacious, with all facilities like lights and fans. Sports meet is held every year for freshers to get along. It offers types of games for us. Societies are the best part. There are societies for almost every kind of hobby, from dance to music, arts to drama. NSS and NCC also provide wide opportunities and experience.
