Remarks
At 1st I attempt the WBJEE exam and I got 9886 ranks in general and SC ranks 475. Then I collect some supporting document that required for counselling then I applied for E-Counselling and I alloted a seat to JGEC in ECE and I payment College admission fees (11823 for CSE and ECE) and fill the admission form and upload all document as per college order.
Course Curriculum Overview
In JGEC, the relationship between the teachers and students is great. We can share our personal as well as academic problems with teachers, and they even helped some students with financial problems. They are well-qualified. As the college is autonomous, everything completely depends upon our teachers to teach us in a great way, and they are doing it great. There are 15 teachers in our department. A teacher is allotted to every five students, and they mentor us through getting our certification programs and improving ourselves in different areas. The course curriculum is helpful, and it covers all the concepts that are useful to crack GATE and IES examinations.
Placement Experience
Although the students of the core branches are not offered many placement opportunities, the placements offered for the students of CSE, IT and ECE departments are good. Companies like TCS, CTS, R K Infosystem, Sharpurji Palonji have visited the college this year now. Besides the college placement drives, students get placed even through some pool campus drives. As I am a student of the mechanical engineering department, I am sure that my fellow students of other branches would definitely get a chance to sit in the placement drives and the students of the core branches have to battle with their full power to get placed. Even the ME students of our senior batch were not provided with that many placement opportunities. But more than 50% of students from the non-core departments were placed, and the highest package offered was 6.5 LPA. The lowest salary package offered was 3.2 LPA. TCS also offers some internship opportunities. About 15 students of the 3rd year were offered within.
Campus Life
From the student's point of view, the infrastructure of the college is good. Labs and classrooms are clean and are well-equipped. There are separate playgrounds for different games. The college is enabled with Wi-Fi. The library offers 4 books, each semester, and there are six subjects every semester. Around eight canteens are present in the college. There are four canteens for four hostels, and there are three official college canteens available on the campus. I live in the hostel, and there are four separate boys hostels for the students of the 1st year, 2nd year, 3rd year and 4th year. The college also has a ladies hostel. The hostels are clean enough. The only problem is you have to carry your own fan in the hostel room. They don't provide any fan in your room. The food offered in the hostel is good. They provide food 2 times a day. You have to prepare your breakfast in the morning. I didn't face any kind of ragging issues here although some recent stories about JGEC are not.
Hostel Facilities
There are 5 hostels for the students pursuing B.Tech and there is no hostel for the postgraduate students. For the B.Tech students, 4 hostels are separately alloted for the boys of 1st,2nd,3rd,4th years and one hostel is allowed for the girls of all the years residing together. Each boys hostel consist of around 68 rooms, with each containing 3 students and the girl's hostel contains around 55 rooms with each containing 4 students. All the hostels provide meals for the students 2 times a day and contain a canteen for each hostel. The average hostel fees are 12000 per semester for boys and 10000 per semester for girls. For each student, there is one table, one bed, one cupboard, one lan wire.
