Life in PES UNIVERSITY

I applied to PES university Bengaluru, and I am attending this college, I am in my 3rd year. Admission criteria for my program are on 3 bases; Write the PES SAT exam and come inside a needed ranking to select the department you want to or Write KCET to get the ranking and choose your desired department. The last option is if you get 85 % and above you can get into PES but there is no scholarship and should pay full fees for that particular course.

I choose biotechnology cause I want to do research in biology in the future. 1: 3 is the approximate ratio of teacher to students. Biotechnology is a small department so we have better faculty than other branches plus or branch is organized as it requires only less time to put things together for a small group. The teachers are very friendly and very approachable. Their teaching method is good as the topics are understood by us very easily. The papers created for term exams have all the levels of question hard, medium, and easy. So basically if you study the topics thoroughly you can pass the exam.

Internships are offered to foreign universities like Carnegie Mellon University, NTU Singapore, few students take it as their summer internship (6th sem students). They mainly offer only CS subjects like Machine learning and AI. Some companies which visit the campus hire people for internships, companies like Microsoft, GE digital, Cisco, etc.

4th sem students become eligible for the campus placements. I don't know much details on placements as I did not join the college for placements but I have heard it is really good for computer science and electrical and communication department. The companies require the students to show a gradual increase in the CGPA like the total should be 8.5 and above 60 -70 % of students this year. There are alumni working in amazon, Linked in, Microsoft, etc After my degree, I plan to do my 2nd degree

The fee structure is actually reasonable, due to covid they have actually reduce the fees. MRD scholarship - 40% tuition fee waiver for the top 20% of students in their class Prof.CNR Rao Scholarships Distinction Awards - If a student scores more than 7.5 CGPA gets this award Job for students in PES is by teaching (a program called I/O).

Usually, the annual fest takes place during February. There are regular talent shows conducted monthly (even during covid situations). All kinds of books are available, you can check the availability in the e-library and order it and then collect it from the library when you go to college. All the classes which take place will be recorded except lab, recorded videos will be available to all the students in the portal. There is Gym on the campus, a Basketball court, a Football court, a Badminton court, and a volleyball/throw ball and cricket ground. There are a lot of clubs created by the students like the Rotary club (helping people in the society), Equinox (space club), writing club, MUN club, Dance club ( western and classical both are present), Vocal club( western and classical), Leadership club.
