SurTech: Best College to study Automobile Engineering

I studied Diploma in Automobile Engineering(AUE) from this college in the academic session from 2017-2020. Observing the Laboratories and the infrastructure available for AUE I decided to continue further by taking admission in B.Tech AUE. I didn't avail any quota. Age is no bar to take admission in B.Tech Lateral courses. Though, the minimum mark for taking Lateral Admission is 40% in Diploma. The admission process was really smooth, as due to the Pandemic there was no physical process. The Admission counselor along with a Departmental Faculty Member showed me the process of Online Admission through the College Website and I filled up the online form there. The form fill-up took near about 15-20 minutes. After that Verification was done very smoothly. All the monetary transaction was done online. The process was really hassle-free as there was no need for physical interaction.

As mentioned earlier, as I pursued Diploma in AUE from this Institute only, I understood the importance of the great infrastructure available in AUE along with the caring and dedicated faculty members. So, it was very easy for me to decide to choose AUE for my Higher Studies. The faculty-student ratio is near about 1:17, which follows the guidelines issued by AICTE. The faculty members are highly qualified in the respective subjects and they teach with utmost care. during my Diploma Years, how they discussed the topics very minutely so that all levels of students can understand. Now, due to the New Normal, they are also giving their best in Online Learning. They show us PPT's, Videos, Images and explain them with great seriousness. Presently all the classes are conducted in JIS LMS, where all the learning docs can be found in one go. The Online Exams are conducted on the same platform, every week. Term Tests are conducted twice in each semester within a gap of one and half months.

The companies which offer Internships are decided from our Internshala Account. As we have a tie-up with INTERNSHALA, we get a lot of Internship Opportunities from there. Apart from that, we are suggested to register ourelves in the AICTE TULIP Portal for other opportunities. Mostly Start-Up companies like ELEATION, look for the Interns. They conducted an Ineternship drive to select 5 students from our Department this year.

The students become eligible for Placements from the 6th Semester. The name of the companies visited are TCS, WIPRO, CAPGEMINI, INFOSYS, HUWAEI, BYJU's, REPOSE ENERGY, TOUJOURS PERITUS, BOMBAY METAL& STEEL and many others. The highest package, this year was given by BYJU's, which was of 10 LPA. The average placement package ranges between 2.5 LPA - 3.5 LPA. Moreover every year 75-85% of the final year students are palced every year. After my completion of B. Tech, I will go for a job in the Core Auto Sector.

The total fees for my course were reduced to 2.32 Lakhs as I got an Inetrnal scholarship of 10,000/Semester given by the JIS authorities. Since the pandemic there haven't been any fees hike. During my Diploma years, there wasn't any fees hike too. Here one can avail various schoalrships. 1. Government Scholarships like Swami Vivekananda Scholarship (60,000/Year), Oasis Schoalrship (20,000/Year) and Aikashree (Amount equal to Tution Fees) are availed by the students. 2. Private Scholarships like S.R. Jindal Scholarship(24,000/Year) is also provided here. 3. All the Internal Diploma Candidates can avail the JIS Scholarship, which is 10,000/semester. As, I decided to continue my studies, I didn't opt for a Job. The college can provide all the relevant documents needed for any kind of Bank Loan and other modes of financial Assistance.

Manthan is our Annual Tech Fest, conducted in the month of March, every year. This year it was conducted virtually on the Google Meet platform. The cultural fest, Sparsh, is conducted in April. Almost 45,000 books are available in our huge and spacious library. One can issue different reference books apart from the books issued through the Book Bank system. This year all the E-Books were provided. The JIS even organized a Book Distribution Drive, which helped us to recieve books at our doorsteps. All the amenities required are completely available in our classroom. To ensure our overall growth, Annual Sports along with Quizzes, Debates, and Virtual Cultural Programmes are organized regularly to motivate us. We have an SAE Collegiate Club at our Institute, from which we participate in many national-level events like SAE Baja and SAE Efficycle.
