Remarks

After completion of class 12th, there are many choices for a student to choose between different colleges. As a student of commerce, I also had a tremendous amount of choices like, as I am from Punjab, Punjab University, Chandigarh University, Mumbai University, Delhi University, and many more Private Universities also. As I had completed my high school in this period of the pandemic, colleges had started their admissions at different times. First I had applied for Punjab University because I want to secure my seat as no one know when will DU open up for admissions. I happen to get into PGGC sector 11 in the first cutoff, and I didn't change my college as my aim was solely to get to Delhi University. I continued there until DU announced its cutoffs. Based on my marks SBSEC is the best choice. The last cutoff was 94.75 for the best 4 subjects for Bcom Hons. I did not apply for any quota to get into the college. Because of lockdown, the whole admission process was very fast and reliable.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I had opted for Bachelor of Commerce Honors Business Commerce/General which specifically means with this course we can do speciality in any subject. And now with New Education Policy NEP, students will be taught corporate world subjects like Digital Marketing, Personal and Family Finance etc. This creates a lot of attraction towards the university and similarly the course. It depends on the student also as what's on his mind for the future he want to make for his whole life, students may choose the path by choosing the best course which will help him/her in his future dreams. Iwant to go for MBA in finance so to my knowledge the course I took is best for me. In Shaheed Bhagat Singh Evening College, faculty are very friendly and mature, they understand the students and teach accordingly. All the teachers are highly qualified as many of them have more than 15 years of experience, some of them are going for PHDs or are PHDs before, they treat all students as their own children.

Placement Experience

4

Students can sit in placements in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Evening College for Bcom Honors after the completion of the fourth semester. Different companies have different ways to select but the most common is that they only allow those students to sit whose marks are more than as prescribed by them. In my college, there is a placement cell that provides the best knowledge of how to perform in the placements. There are many webinars are done each month to increase the placement of the college. Many known speakers came to teach the students about the corporate world. Companies like Dettol etc came to college for campus placement. As per college in last years, the highest package was 16 lacks and the lowest was 3 lacs. The average package that students get in placements in the college is around 4-5 lacs per annum.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure of Bcom Hons is very simple and quite well. Students who have opted for Bcom Honors from Shaheed Bhagat Singh Evening College have to pay 6825 yearly for 3 years because it is a three year degree. I haven't applied for any scholarships or any assistance to date. Campus Placements start from the third year means the last year of Bcom Hons, many companies come for placement opportunities for the students. The highest placement was got for 13 lacs and lowest for 3 lacs as per college in recent years. Companies look for minimum marks from the students to be able to sit in college placement. The placement cell of college helps students to prepare for placements and will perform well in the same.

Campus Life

4

I had taken admission in the time of Corona Pandemic so am not able to attend college in person till now, from the starting everything went on virtual like our admission, orientation, etc. So about campus life, I can't say much because even I also didn't get the opportunity to attend it. As per college in virtual, it's great. All fest, events, etc are conducted online only. Many new ideas came into mind and new competitions were made and played. Intercollege competitions were also organised in the college virtually. All societies (such as Varico'The Commerce Society, Women Development Cell, Placement Cell, Reflection Photography Club, etc) played a great role in conducting the same. Libraries provided the books facilities online only in the pdf form, that is a very good opportunity. No sports were played during my time until now so I don't know much about them.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

Placement Experience:

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
