SurTech: College of Great opportunities

I had joined this college in TFW Category by clearing WBJEE Exam. Sur Institute of Technology and Sports Complex (SurTech) offers Diploma and B.Tech programs in various specializations at the UG Level. Minnimum eligibilty to the B.Tech program is that the candidate must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent with Maths, Physics. Admisison to the B.Tech Program is done on the basis of WBJEE and JEE Mains. Direct Entry is also available. The admission process was done based on the counseling done through the WBJEE authorities. It was an online counselling where we had to select the options. I choose SurTech, as I got TFW option from there.

Since I am an Automobile enthusiast, I choose this college. Since, there was a little bit of Financial Problem also, I choose TFW in this College. As per AICTE Guidelines, the desirable faculty-student ratio is 1:15. Our department maintains that prescribed ratio. Most of the faculties are highly qualified and they teach every subject from the fundamental point of view. Presently all the classes are conducted Onine, where there is a LMS Portal, where all the Lecture Materials are found in one go. Faculties share NOtes, Lectures and PPT's in the JIS LMS. The Online classes are conducted weekly in the LMS and the Slot Tests are taken twice in the semester. With the help of our Faculties, we can score good marks easily.

We register ourselves in INTERNSHALA and AICTE TULIP Portal for Internship Opportunities. Apart from that, we get many offers from the Placement Cell regarding the Internships. We had done a Project on Aerodynamic Design of Vehicles under the guidance of our Departmental Faculties.

From 6th semester onwards, the students become eligible for Placements. The companies visited in this session are TCS, INFOSYS, WIPRO, CAPGEMINI, BYJU's, REPOSE ENERGY, AMC Group, and TOUJOURS PERITUS. BYJU's had offered the highest package of 10 LPA. The average pacakge ranges in between 3-4 LPA. Moreover. 75% -80% students get placed every year. After getting the Degree I plan to settle down in the Automotive Sector.

Since I have studied in the Tution Fee Waiver Scheme, I had to pay the Exam fees only. There's was no Fees Hike during my last 4 years. Due to the Pandemic Situation, there hasn't been any fees hike till now. There are various types of Scholarships available in our College. 1. Government Scholarships like Swami Vivekananda Scholarship, Aikashree, and Oasis for Reserved Categories. 2. Private Scholarships like the S.R. Jindal Scholarship. The college also provides different forms of Financial Assitance if anyone tries to avail of any kind of Educational Loan.

The annual tech fest, Manthan is conducted every year in March. This year, because of the pandemic, it was organized virtually. The Cultural Fest, Sparsh, is organized in April, just after the conduction of Tech Fest. More than 45,000 books are available in our Library. We can use different books for reference using the library card. This year, E-Books were delivered to us. JIS conducted a Book distribution so that all students can continue their studies easily. All the requisite amenities are available in our classroom. To look into our physical and mental developments, Annual Sports, Quizzes, Debates, and other Cultural Activities are organized on regular basis. Now, it is being organized Virtually. We have an SAE Collegiate Club, from where we can participate in the National Level Competitions like SAE BAJA and SAE Efficycle.
