A Brief Talk about GNIT

I got this college from WBJEE counseling and my rank was 24444. The highest rank which got admission in this course, in my batch, was around 34000 in WBJEE. Otherwise, JEE Main or CEE Ampai rank is also considered in admission. Admission is quite simple after getting information from counselling the candidate has to contact the administrative cell and submit the necessary documents instructed by them.

I chose this course because I am already very much enthusiastic about computers and its applications, technologies, and the science behind it. The total number of students is 120 and the total number of faculty is around 20. Every professor is having sound knowledge of his/her subject area and they are extremely articulate and well informed about the systems and functioning of the curriculum. They guide the students thoroughly via regular mentoring and assessments. Every semester contains two internal exams and a final semester. It is easy to get good marks if one follows properly all class notes and assignments provided by the subject teachers.

Students start getting internship offers from their third year. These internships make students aware of industry required skills and environments to execute a real-life project. If a student is lagging in any skill they can improve that by doing an internship. For example, a student is interested in AI then he/she can take the opportunity of doing an internship in Machine Learning or Deep Learning including projects to explore more about that domain.

After the seventh semester students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like Capgemini, Hexaware, Persistent Systems, etc provide students job offers in multiple profiles. Almost everyone has placed from our batch and the maximum package was around 10 LPA and the minimum was 3.5 LPA. I also got offers from Capgemini and TCS but I wanted to pursue higher studies so I opted for M.Tech.

The total fee of this course is around 4.7 Lacs and a candidate has to pay the sem fees before every semester. If anyone needs financial assistance he/she can contact the administrative cell directly.

Every year annual cultural fest and tech take place in February and March correspondingly. The library is huge containing every type of book which is needed in the curriculum. It includes journals and resources to study topics beyond the syllabus. There is a club in CSE named Bit2Byte where students engage in different types of activities to enhance their skills. Other activities include Inter-college sports competitions, National Science Day celebration, spreading awareness of various social issues in different forms of arts, paper publication, and so on.
