Entrance Preview

Jee main scored 103. I opted for this college as it has great reputation. Beautiful campus and brilliant teachers. The campus placement was the main reason as the college has excellent placement scales, which indeed favoured my move to dr dy patil college of engineering pune.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course is so much hectic. The pune university schedule is so tight that you dont have any time for enjoyment. Constant study hours need to be fixed to get good results. The students have constant pressure which cuts them away from social life. Social life is almost dead. And strict instructions are given by the university.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, our college provides internship. Reputed countries like apple, wipro, tcs are major recruiters and are willing to give good packages to students. Their interview is pretty tough but can be cracked with basic understanding of the subject.

Placement Experience

3

Management consultants and computer science companies made 83 offers. Different companies across various sectors such as IT/software, analytics/consulting, finance, FMCG, teaching& research, Public Sector Units/Government sectors etc were also a part of the session. New entrants this year include Bloomberg, Dahlberg, Roland Berger, Wrig Nanosystems, FinMechanics and a few recent startups. As a result of rains, a few companies, which could not make it to the campus for placement sessions, would hold interviews on Skype to complete the recruitment process.

College Events

1.5

TED x Gateway is an independently organized TED event operated under license from TED. At the day long conference we will feature eminent speakers from different walks of life will share unique ideas from India and all around the globe – ideas which will spark deep discussion and introspection among the group that attends, those viewing live from across the world, and those who view the talks after the event is over.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee Structure in dy patil college of engineering (As available now) for B.E. course Total Fee — Rs. 90399/- per year (for open category students) Total Fee — Rs. 6489/- per year (for SC/ST students) Total Fee — Rs. 48444/- per year (for OBC students) Tuition fee amount is Rs. 83910/- per year for open category candidates. Those belonging to OBC category are required to pay Rs. 41955/- per year as tuition fee. University fee and Development fee are Rs. 5874/- and Rs. 615/- (per year) respectively. This fee is common for all category candidates. No tuition fee is charged from SC/ST candidates. They have to pay University fee and Development fee only.

Fees and Financial Aid

Students have plenty of options available but the fact is that majority of the people are not aware of it let me explain some things in detail Scholarships for General category Students- as you asked Need Based Scholarships (There is a limitation annual family income) Central Sector Scholarship - To be applied in 1st year north South Foundation Scholarship, LIC Scholarship, IOCL Scholarship, Merit based IET scholarship.

Campus Life

3

Freshman life at DYPCOE has always been fun. In fact, freshman life is going to be easier since the administration has done/proposed modifications in the existing academic curriculum. Since acads is supposedly the most important part of your stay in the insti, let's start with it first.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Hostels are in good condition. The rooms are decent. Sharing accommodation will be allotted initially(depending on situation) and then moved to single accommodation. Yes, you will have enough place for your clothes and personal belongings. The only dress code they have is to dress comfortably & sensibly. :P mess food is not edible.

Alumni/Alumna

Notable alumni of Savitribai Phule Pune University include major politicians of India including Vishwanath Pratap Singh, 7th Prime Minister of India; Pratibha Patil, 12th President of India; Vilasrao Deshmukh, 17th and 19th Chief Minister of Maharashtra; and Sharad Pawar, President of the Nationalist Congress Party and former Chief Minister of Maharashtra. P.V. Narasimha Rao, 9th Prime Minister of India, graduated from Fergusson College.

Exam Structure

The pattern of the curriculum, teaching methodologies and exam evaluations are worst in the Pune University among the other universities I've heard of. Most of the examiners have a very narrow and critical mindset while checking your answers. You are lucky if you get a good one.

Admission

I got admission via jee main counselling which was a hected process, i got the college according to my rank which decided the branch that i will get. I had to go through so much, as the process was very hectic lots of forms were to be filled and lots of documentation work was needed which was constant pain in the head.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty is pretty good. But their attitude towards students is very poor. The student teacher relation cant bloom. But the teachers teach well and have attained degree from reputed colleges and are kinda perfectionist in their field. But they dont co-operate with students and bully them.

The creative assignments and learnings of how to think out of the box made me choose this course. The curriculum prepares us well and we learn how to move forward. but the real world is something which we learn only when we enter the field. The teaching methods can improve by introducing more practical engagements and field visits. Frequency of exams are not to much and exams are easy to clear.
