Entrance Preview
I got my admission in IIIT-Bhubaneswar through OJEE-2012. I had scored a rank of 9821 in the entrance Exam. It was a new Government institute and also a University so hopping the best I opted it.
Course Curriculum Overview
It was quite good. Our syllabus was initially as per the BPUT syllabus. After our College became an Unitary University our college administration made a few changes on the syllabus and the exam pattern. We don't get much subject as optional. But overall the course curriculum was good.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, our college offers a number of Scholarship program like Prarana, Medhabruti etc. I used to get a rupees of 10,000 from the Medhabruti Scholarship a stipend offered by Govt. of Odisha.
Placement Experience
Our college placement is much better as compared to other colleges. Job opportunities is very good here. Our college use to call mostly the software companies. So the CS and IT branch students have much more opportunities then the core branch students.
College Events
We had a bunch of functions that held in our college. Major functions were the Fresher day also named as Nebulae and the Tech-Cult Fest "ADVAITA". The Advaita is celebrated like nothing else. It is a four day festival with lots of tech and fun events. It also includes a star night and DJ night. Apart from these we observe several events like holi, diwali, ganesh Chaturthi etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Although our college is a unitary University, but it is a undertaking of Government of Odisha. It is a public partnership schemed college. That is why our fees were a bit high not less than any reputed private Engineering College. Also there are several other fees.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes we were provided with Cafas Scholarship with a stipend around 10,000 annually. Other loans facilities were there in our college for TFW candidates and SC,ST candidates i.e Prerana Scholarship which stipend about 60,000.
Campus Life
Initially there were not much extracurricular activities in our college. Eventually we made a lot of competition stuff happened. We organised a lot of robotic events, seminars etc. We also organised cricket tournament, football tournaments and badminton tournaments.
Exam Structure
The exams schedule not so good. Sometimes we get a single day or two days gap. Once we had a six day schedule with six subjects one day each. We had also given three internals in a single day. And the back paper exam used to be like hell. we used to give more than two subject in a day.
Admission
I had to go through a bunch of counselling process. I registered through the OJEE website and filled my college preferences. Then I got allotted in International Institute of Information & Technology, Bhubaneswar. I got there at the schedule date & time and got admitted followed by a number of administrative process like document verification, fee payment, College ID generation.
Faculty
Well we had quite a friendly faculties. Not all of them but most of them were good in teaching. And of course some subjects were so boring that we can't even withstand the class for an hour. Our lab assistant were so good to us. They have helped pretty much in our laboratory session.
