Remarks
I opted for nit Durgapur, nit Rourkela, IIIT Bhubaneshwar, IIIT Kottayam. I didn't opt for the mentioned lower colleges as their reputation doesn't match that of my college and ya of course due to placements. I availed SC quota for admission. Admission criteria for my category went up to 160000 ranks in JOSAA counseling. I had no age restriction though. We had online counseling so there's only online college matching nothing more.
Course Curriculum Overview
This college has specialization in ETC hence I chose etc as my branch and ya it is a core subject too. The student ratio is quite not good like 10 girls over 45-50 boys. All the faculties have well educational qualifications and are not less than PhD. All are doing either research or Ph.D. The method is quite old but some teachers are crystal clear in their concept. Exams were held at a time and yes exams were at times a little tough or easy.
Internships Opportunities
Well internships start from first year only into various well known startups or a few deemed companies like Google ,Microsoft ,etc. Later on you enjoy GSoC partnership or Google students programme or good startups where your stipend stays between 10000-15000 . Like for online activity now they only give you sharing and data entry works.
Placement Experience
From 1st year only you become eligible to have internships. Later you get lots of opportunities to join Google or GSoC. Placements start from 3rd only but the average salary is quite low like 8-9 lakhs per annum. Well, you have a lot of placements and well you don't have core companies here. I will opt for the GATE after this.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee is quite high as 120000 per sem and being a govt. institute it increases fees after intervals but has no hidden inside fees. You will get scholarships according to your economic background. You get good job opportunities in companies like TCS, Wipro, HCL, etc with a median salary of 12 lakhs.
Campus Life
The fests are quite lit with many opportunities and a friendly atmosphere. Each society would take interest in including you. There are lots of types of equipment in class like smartboards and all. Sports is quite odd as nothing extraordinary. Many societies are run by students here and almost all. Like music or GSoC etc.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are quite top-notch. You get all your needs but have problems finding your desires. The meal is not very good but ok. Registration is included in your sem fees. There's nothing hectic in that. I lived in a college hostel and I did not opt for outside hostels as college hostels were way cheaper.
