Remarks
I appeared in the COMEDK UGET exam and I got 93/180 which was around 7.3k rank (GEN) and got BIT B Bangalore(ECE) in the 2nd last round of counseling. I paid Rs 50k for booking a seat. The counseling process comprises various steps like registration, fee payment, choice filling, seat allotment, reporting to the allotted college, etc. It will be mandatory for each qualified candidate to participate in the counseling process. There will be three rounds of counseling. Candidates will have to complete the verification process, whose documents gets verified will be eligible to participate in counseling. To participate in Round 2nd and 3rd depends on exercised or decision made on allotment during Round 1 and 2 respectively.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course syllabus is outdated though faculty members are helpful and cooperative. It is a non-autonomous college, VTU regulates and handles all the examination curriculum and syllabus. They give too many assignments, lab records that are of no use. Overall as the college is located in the main city of Bangalore, placements are good.
Internships Opportunities
Companies visit IT to offer internship opportunities in the final year and if you selected, your intentions are generally starting from the final semester. Before this time and I believe it is difficult to get one with the support of the placement department. I am sure many will Disagree with me on this but I will tell you the CSE department and let is very supportive or at least not block your way to your achievements.
Placement Experience
Campus placements are good in the college as it is located in the tech city. Software jobs are in demand always. The CSE/IT/ECE students grab a more number of jobs compared to core branches but overall placement statistics are good in the college. That's only the pros of the college. Students have to score a minimum of 7 GPA to get eligible in good MNC's. The highest package this year was around 20 lakhs grabbed by the CSE student.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee is too high for COMEDK general students who are out of the Hyderabad/Karnataka region and they offer no scholarships and concessions for students who are outside of the Karnataka region. KCET students enjoy studying at lower prices as they have made bankers to the students who are out of the Hyderabad/Karnataka region.
Campus Life
The campus is not very big but is located in the heart of the city Bangalore. They have built a seven-story building and managed to build all the branches in the building. College also provides MBA and MTech programs. There are so many clubs like dance club, sports club, Rotaract club, Eco club etc.
