Remarks
The management of college is extremely bad. No departments like the accounts, students, transport, etc. are connected to each other. If you have any query or require any help, you will find that no one is available or willing to answer. My father had to ace much difficulty the first time we stepped into the campus due to the same. Especially when the campus is almost 15-20 km from the city.
Entrance Preview
I took the JEE entrance examination and scored 80 marks. I chose this college because I wanted to stay in Rajkot for completing college and this was the best college in Rajkot.
Course Curriculum Overview
The faculty are good enough and well qualified. Though the college still needs to focus a lot on things like the English speaking skills of faculty, the quality of education imparted in terms of practical examples, lesser bookish knowledge, etc. I the focus is more on the overall development of students including their language, communication, discipline, etc. then it can make much more difference.
Internships Opportunities
A lot of companies visit the college during campus drives, but a few of the policies of the college prevent the students from taking full advantage of the opportunities. If those policies were a little flexible, students could gain more. Stipend varies from 200 to 20000 depending on the company.
Placement Experience
Comapnaies like Matrix, Balarka, Think and Learn by BYJU's, and several others visited. The packages varied from 1.8 LPA to 6 LPA. The opportunities are ample, though the highest package is 6 LPA only, but a few policies of the college do not allow students to take maximum advantage of it.
College Events
A lot of fests, events, contests, etc. were organised in the college providing students a chance to display their talents and skills. A little more support from the faculties, especially in our department would've been appreciable but we still figured out ways to participate anyways. A huge crowd attends all our events from all over the city.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Our college is the most expensive college throughout Saurashtra and does not provide any help or support regarding fees, even to any needy student. They charge about 78000 as the tuition fees per year with an added 15000 for bus/transport ees. The hostel fees are about 1 lakh rupees. Thus, it mkaes the college a less feasible place to study for people with lower income.
Fees and Financial Aid
As far as my knowledge goes, the college does not provide such scholarships or loans. The only acility/help provided is that of TFW which is a policy of the government and so the college has to rpovide to eligible students.
Campus Life
Gender ratio can be seen in other departments, but it is comparatively less in our department. Extracurricular activities do keep happening at the college but they aren't encouraged unlike what the college likes to boast. College lie seems more like school lie with most people having very narrow minded perspective. A lot of cheap public is also included in the college on basis of management quota seats. Thus, the outcome is a very indiscipline and non intellectual bunch of students.
Hostel Facilities
I am not a student who lives at the hostel, but from what my friends living at the hostel have told me till now, the hostel facilities are very poor with the lift not functioning at times, the warden not cooperating, problems with the food at the mess, etc. The issues are more persistent with girls.
Alumni/Alumna
The few senior students who can be contacted are very helpful in all ways, but none of that was due to the college. The only contact with them was either because they went to the same school as me or they participated in the same fest as I did. A couple of seniors did come once or twice to share their company experience with us.
Exam Structure
In few semesters the timetable contained less hectic schedules while others contained a more hectic one. Exams were normal, constituting two mid sems and one final exam per semester. On an average, we had atleast 1 or 2 lab sessions everyday. In the last two semesters the weekends were off, making the week a little lighter.
Admission
We were given the admission based on ACPC procedure which was carried out in three different rounds. We were supposed to choose our preferences for colleges and wait for the results to see which college did we get an admission in. Then we were to visit the college to fill up the forms and pay the starting fees. Then we were given the I card and other required things as well as a bagpack uniforms, etc.
Faculty
All the faculty have apt amount of knowledge regarding their own subjects. However most of them have poor English speaking skills and lack at communication skills due to which the students often become disinterested and bored. Also, the skills of the faculty are underestimated due to the same reason. Otherwise, each faculty is very much qualified in their own field.
