Entrance Preview
In 2005, the primary mode of admissions to PSG Tech was the single window counseling held by Anna University for all Tamilnadu colleges. The admission criteria is combined marks from Tamilnadu Engineering Entrance TNPCEE (for 100 marks) + Class XII board Maths, Physics and Chemistry (converted to 200 marks). My score was 284/300 and i was ranked 1300 in the state. PSG Tech was already well established college for academics and one of the most sought after college in Tamilnadu.
Internships Opportunities
Internship is not a compulsory program. Some of the companies that visited for internship were TVS Motors, Intel. Students can intern with other companies based on their interest.
Placement Experience
One of the best engineering colleges that offers placements in the best companies. Some of the companies that recruited from my batch include Deloitte, TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, HCL, Wipro, TVS, Mahindra, Sanmar, TAFE, Essar and others. The starting salaries were from 2 lakhs per annum in 2005.
College Events
The technical event brings together best brains of engineering world for paper presentation and product demonstration events. The intra-college cultural event 'Intrams' and Inter-College cultural events 'Renaissance' are well hosted and are very memorable for all PSG Tech alumni.
Fee Structure And Facilities
I studied my course as per fee structure established for Government quota (DOTE 1). Each semester's college fee was approximately Rs. 3000. The fee structure was subsidized by TN government.
Fees and Financial Aid
One or two deserving students for a class are offered partial scholarship awards instituted by college in association with alumni and philanthropists.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network is well spread across the globe. Many of the alumni are very helpful in providing guidance and directions to the students. The alumni meets are a great platform to catch up with fellow-alumni and reminisce the old times.
Exam Structure
The exams structure comprised of 40 marks for internal tests through the year and 60 marks from the final semester exam. A combined score of 90+ was awarded a grade 10/10. Total score of 80-89 was awarded a grade 9/10. The course structure was well balanc
