Remarks
Chandigarh Quota availed. Also applied to NIT Jaipur for Mechanical Engg, but a better branch with a better placement record was available at PEC, so I chose PEC. For someone who is aiming PEC, should go for <20000 ranks in JEE MAIN exam for a good enough branch.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is good but sometimes not at par with the industry standards. The teacher: faculty ratio is ~1:50. Some teachers are well qualified and their teaching methods are really good, but some of them are really bad. The marking system is relative and a little hard to get marks but one can pass easily.
Internships Opportunities
The projects you undertake in college contribute to the kind of internship you can get. Big ones like GS, JP, Microsoft etc. come for internships and convert them as FTEs. Different types of companies participate in the drive like Tech, Analytics, and Business
Placement Experience
Students with no backlogs are eligible by the college to sit for the placements and internships. A lot of companies visit these drives, and it's easier for a 6.5+ CGPA student to easily get placed considering you've done something in college. CSE/ECE Branch gets the highest packages and the average is ~8.5 for these branches.
Fees and Financial Aid
Since it is a govt. college provides many financial moderations provided you can attach suitable proofs. Also, the college fee is very less or at par with the good colleges in this region. The Library provides books for free but that is limited to a FCFC system.
Campus Life
PECFEST, is conducted around October and is really great. The books are available to be issued through the library. The classrooms are well lit and ventilated and basic amenities are present. Sports facilities are good but there's a lack of a proper running track and a football ground.
