Remarks
Punjab engineering college is a college in Chandigarh. I got admission in the spot round. The admissions happened through jac Chandigarh. Now the admissions happen from Josaa. The admission criteria were the jee mains score and 75% on boards. As for the admission process, they asked for aadhar and mark sheets at the time with a DD for the admission fees at the time. Submit the DD for admission in the college. I had taken admission in a spot so I entered college like 15 days after it had started, but I did not feel an outsider. On the counseling day, we first went to the PU campus, their people took us to the respective place where admissions of PEC were happening. I also applied to BITS Goa but left the college in 10 days because it was a very weird experience. I met some different kinds of people who were very serious and I did not like the overall vibe of the college even though it is one of the best in the country.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is fine and is robust but the machinery is old. There has been a new segment of labs added which increases the level of the college. The faculty members are good. Most of them are lenient and are not very harsh on the students.
Internships Opportunities
Many people got internships. We have a whole semester given specifically to the internships. Companies like JP Morgan, Microsoft, Arcesium, and others. People get good stipends in their internships and also learn a lot. Internships are available in many facets.
Placement Experience
Placements are well off. Companies like JP Morgan, GS, Microsoft, Arcesium, Collegedunia, SEW, DMI, Amazon, Flipkart, Oyo come to the college. The highest package is 42 lac with an average of 7 LPA. Around 75 percent of my class got placed and the rest are preparing for studying ahead
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees remain the same for all 4 years. For me, it was 1,20,000/ year. There are various scholarships there. Mostly for EWS people and also for those who score the best. They get full concession on the tuition fees.
Campus Life
The fests are very lively. They are fun. The entry is completely free. The people call various celebrities for the success of the fest. There are also many competitions organized. There are various books available. The college has access to a vast online library as well. The extracurricular activities are mostly handled by the students, it is very active. Many societies and clubs are present which keep the life there lively. This is the best part of college. You can not survive without them.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are not very good but liveable. The food gets better with time. There is unlimited internet in the rooms and everywhere on the campus. The hostel accommodation requires some documents that need to be signed and a fee of approx 60K/ year
