Remarks
The admission process is not really tough rather it is difficult to understand. One has to fill a registration form for Delhi university. And then for Miranda house if cut off matches with your percentage. The cut-off for my stream was 95%. The documents required to take admission are the 10th and 12th mark sheets. For some streams, DU takes entrance while most of the bachelor's courses are merit-based. After the result got verified, I was required to pay the fee and then admission got confirmed.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose chemistry as my honors paper. I have an interest in the subject so I opted for chemistry. Faculty: student ratio is 1:65. The teachers are highly educated and are very particular with their way of teaching. Every week tutorials are conducted to solve doubts. Exams are the interesting part. You could easily score 9+ SGPA. Just need to attend classes every day and make notes. Exams are taken four times a year.
Placement Experience
From the last semester, one could apply for placement. Commerce students mostly register themselves. The placement percentage is really high. Out of 100 students, 80 students get placement. The overall percentage is 65%. Top recruiting companies are navbharat times, the Hindustan times, all India radio, Wipro, Deloitte. One could easily get placement with a yearly package of 15 lakhs. The average package is 5 lakhs per annum.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee for my course is 40000 in the round figures for 3years. It's high in comparison to the other two streams. There is no scholarship provided by the college. Yes, one could get a fee concession if one belongs to a poor family. The PWD students have to pay a very little fee. There are some scholarships provided by the state government, one could search them on the internet.
Campus Life
Tempest, is a three days annual fest of Miranda house. They are conducted in the month of March. Other colleges students are also invited. The library is big, fully air-conditioned and is spacious. It has its own sports complex, well-maintained gym a separate basketball court, volleyball court, and more. Many social groups, clubs exist. It includes debating society, photography, fashion society, and more.
